Dude. I hear what you are saying and will agree the media in our province is on steroids compared to most other team cities. But because the fans in Montreal, me included, wants to know why and how (any particular topic) happened. I just want to know, since you have a soft spot for Drouin is the reason you really took this to heart? I also disagree that no one wants to come to Montreal. Kovalev prefered here, Perry came for a run, Staal etc. But yea I think the media go over board and it is not goof for team moral. In fact I get pissed at the media for going to players right after losses, especially a huge game. Plz don't take my comment as criticism.

Drouin is likely anxious to get the hell out of Montreal now. When the media gets on players case with bad energy it affects their mindset. Some players can deal with it and others just want to leave. Montreal can be great for a player or awful. Nice rant, Tropical.

The number one reason is FRENCH your living in Canada and feel like your in another country because of all the french speaking media and nothing wrong with Montreal beautiful place the media and french speaking makes players feel uncomfortable so why would they want to might change soon as there are going to be a good quality team that will have a chance to run for a cup in the near future
This guy Drouin deserves everything he gets now. He plays like shit last 5 years. He chickened out in playoff. He signed the $5M contract and he didn't do shit. Now he is late to meeting. He gets himself into this, He is himself to blame. It's not about the 2 minutes, come on man, it's his attitude and mental illness and performance last 5 years coming down to this.

Well said! Media in Montreal are relentless! They go on and on about every little thing over and over for days! Like it’s brutal! No wonder players take a leave for mental illness … aka Drouin! Get off the guys back. We’ve all been late for work before lol! And we all can see he wasn’t on the ice as we were watching the game! “Insiders and columnists” who usually know nothing serious about a hockey (zero personal hockey experience), just stupid rumours spreading around all the time. They are judging players such as they are pieces of garbage but themselves, those locos, are feeling such as NHL superstars!!! Awful…. I hate them for 💀. I don’t want to name them here but on Twitter I had couple of clashes with them.
2 minutes late wasn't the problem..the problem is drouin,hes done this numerous times don't Hussle,throws the puck away when anyone approaches him for a check.hes probably the softest player I have ever seen..he wants money but don't wanna earn it. Headache- drouin out a week. Stuffy nose drouin out 3 weeks..let's just be thankful he's gone in a month.hes such a liability when he plays, absolutely wouldn't of went to finals if he played in the playoffs. So be greatful he needed another break for a few months lol. 1 goal this year..he's a bum
I grew up in the Sherbrooke, Edmonton, Boston and Chicago areas.
My observation is that the media in Montreal and Edmonton are pretty much the same to their NHL teams because these cities only have 1 major sports team to deal with (and they do it year round).
Boston and Chicago not so at all. Boston however is very tough on the Bruins when they lose.
Drouin gets a ridiculous pass from the French media. If he wasn't Quebecois, 1) we would have never traded for him and 2) He would have been shipped-out long ago.
I was wondering wear you were going with this when I read the caption, so glad your were 100% right ,that’s how I feel. That’s one reason I canceled my newspaper and don’t watch the news . I tend to follow YouTubers & podcasts that I might not agree all the time but they are not media whores.

thats unfortunate. Im a leafs fan, and in november someone took me to a habs v penguins game. It was my first nhl hame, and i've been told i went to the best place on earth to watch hockey. LOVED every minute of it, and the locals treated us like gold.

I've known Drouin was a problematic player since the time he refused to show up at the ahl team of the Tampa bay Lightning cause he considered himself a nhl player. In his second year!
