Call it a soft penalty all you want – Draisaitl is a veteran and should absolutely know better. He owes his team big time now. I am a Rangers fan but in this series I am 100% rooting for Edmonton. Still, there is no excuse for that.

Weak or not, he didn't have to do it, but chose to. His nerves got the better of him. The Oilers need to improve their focus or they're in for an early exit.
People calling this a slash are missing the point. This is the equivalent of an NFL taunting penalty. Itās unsportsmanlike conduct and itās a penalty. Control yourself, go rub Connorās nuts, and thereās nothing to worry about.

Ok so now 3 of the worst penalties Leo has ever takenā¦ā¦.funny he calls his teammates out after game 1 for being immature. This group always finds a way to be golfing early! Now I am a lifetime oiler fan and been thru ALOT of disappointment so Iām hardened and do not get too wound up anymore, itās not over yet but I think I can safely say the reffing in the NHL is the most inconsistent I have ever witnessed. I coach minor hockey and those kind of unsportsmanlike actions frustrate me and by the end of the season I would not have a player doing thatā¦ā¦ā¦.itās drew doughty! Any ref should know heās a trouble maker and prob deserved a chirp and a two hander, give Leo a warning. Kostin penalty should have been both for sure, he was hassled and grabbed for 30ā before he reacted.
