Im surprised they didnt just give them 5 minutes after they broke it up the first time. I cant wait till 1 ref gets knocked the fuck out trying to break up a fight, thats the only way this will stop, then again they might just ban fighting period after that.
this happened in the cbj vs stl game where 2 guys dropped them after a guy had taken liberties and both guys accepted and they grabbed them immediately and gave them 2 each for roughing even though not contact was made. I was hoping they would go again after they got out of the box before the refs could stop them but one side got a break out pass as they were getting out and then it was a close game in the late 3rd and never happened I was annoyed. it was real anger and not staged and that's the fights that are ok. I'd rather see a fight based on anger and the game then 2 guys just literally doing it as there job with no hockey reason.
Why break it up and not give roughing penalties after the first scrum? The ref's just wasted more time by letting them stay on the ice and fight after the draw.
