Stars vs Wild is PEAK Playoff Hockey

In today’s video I talk about one of the most exciting round 1 games and overall matchups that kicked off last night which is, the Dallas Stars taking on the Minnesota Wild. This game was an absolute battle and had everything that playoff hockey is all about. The goaltending was outstanding, we had some huge hits, a few beautiful goals, and even a double overtime finish.

  1. Keep your head up in the corner. Simple as. It’s like suicide passes from QB’s in the NFL being blamed on the defensive players.

  2. Story of the game was Minnesota's defence smothering absolutely everything. Take away the 2 pp goals and this would have been a shutout. The fact Dallas is going to have a 20 year old rookie fresh out of college play big minutes is 1. Crazy as hell, 2. A strait insult to the stars. If the wild play like this all series, it will be over in 4. Dallas will have to score with even numbers to have a shot at coming back in the series.

  3. You can't be going into the corner leaving soft dump passes w your head not on a swivel in game 1 of playoffs. I like Pavelski, but he should have hit some smelling salts or something before that shift.

  4. Cant even watch the rest of this video after dude says dumba hit was dirty. that was a clean hit. L take.

  5. In real time it's a good hit, that's hockey. Dallas fans get over it, just remember your team used to be OUR TEAM !

  6. LOL the dumba hit wasn't late nor high. It's pure shoulder to shoulder. And DPS said they weren't looking at it cause it was on time.

  7. Legal hit yeah, clean questionable. Unfortunate on the injury, no one wants to see a star player get hurt in the playoffs especially early. Love the energy for both teams.

Also screw the late scheduling, cmon you can’t do that to non east teams on a week night.

  8. "Borderline dirty hit" is a new way of saying that's a clean hit that I didn't like

  9. I'm pretty sure Pavelski got smacked with his own stick too, a 1-2 punch. That's a Dang-It.

  10. That Dumba hit had some Kronwall style to it, much like Kronwall's hits it drew a crowd around him afterwards. Pavelski's head hit the ice that made him get a concussion maybe give the ice a game misconduct if you're mad about him hurt lol.

  11. So, you will totally call a blatantly clean hit "borderline dirty" and talk all about it, but don't talk about Suter trying to injure Kirill multiple times, on OBVIOUSLY DIRTY hits? Brilliant. Totally no bias here, fellas.

  12. Dumba's hit looked clean to me – well below the head area. Heck, i think he took the brunt of the collision when he hit his back side against the boards.

  13. Not a high hit. Barely if at all late. Just a big hit with a unfortunate result. Also, what is overlooked by people that didn't watch the game live is that initially there wasn't even a penalty called because even the officials thought it was clean in the moment, the aftermath that resulted caused the "major" penalty call just so it could be reviewed more closely.

  14. I question the hockey IQ of all the people calling for Dumba's head. I can tell this must be your first time watching a playoff game, but you'll see this a lot more in every series.

  15. Not late(.6 seconds from puck release), not dirty ( shoulder on shoulder). Joe had head down and has history of forgetting it's for The Cup.

  16. I disagree with Dumba's hit being clean. It was at the very least predatory with all the intention of hurting the other player and no intention of playing the puck or positioning, including using his own player to set a screen so Pavs didn't see him coming and hitting him blindside.

"playoff hockey" isn't an excuse to throw out the real meaning of hockey and hunt for predatory hits and abandon the puck. You also don't knock a player out by hitting them in the shoulder, and Pavs was obviously knocked out cold on contact considering he didn't brace for impact on the ice

  17. Wanna talk dirty? Look at how many times the stars targeted our players with dirty shit. Its playoff hockey, nothing is off the table
