Previewing Game Three…Where Do The Devils Go From Here Since They’re Down 0-2? (Ft. Dan Rice)

It will be an uphill battle for the New Jersey Devils to turn this series around. Especially since they head now head into Madison Square Garden trailing two games to none. The New York Rangers haven’t made things easy on them and the odds aren’t exactly in the Devils’ favor. My fellow colleague over at Pucks & Pitchforks, Dan Rice, joined me on today’s episode to share his thoughts.

  1. I am a Rangers fan, and I enjoy your videos that I have seen. The Devils are a very good, young team, with a great future. The Rangers are just built for the playoffs, especially with the acquisitions of Tarasenko and Kane. Experience means so much in playoff series. I can't see what the Devils can really change, since the Rangers clearly dominated the first 2 games, winning 5-1 both games. If the games were close, maybe a little tweak can change things. But unless the Rangers completely fall on their faces here, it's hard to envision a complete turnaround. And honestly, is the Devils goalie to blame for these results? Playing a rookie in MSG? I don't know about that move.

  2. Devils have a great future ahead of them. As a Ranger fan I’m not looking forward to meeting them in the playoffs down the road. However it’s obvious for this year Devils need a bit more playoff experience just like the Rangers dealt with last year vs Tampa. Not saying the series is over in a sweep but I think this will be more of a learning experience for the Devils which will help them in the next few years

  3. Watching Devils responses from yesterday's practice they are done. No one seemed angry about the way they played. Just the same cliche answers every athlete gives. I wanted to here a few bleeps…nothing. It's tough to watch considering how well they played this year. I expected to lose to the Bruins not the Rangers. Don't think the Rangers are a better team. Coaching staff panicked with roster moves that made no significant change. If you traded for Lazar because he was a playoff type player why wasn't he un the lineup in game 1? Luke Hughes should have been in game 1 also. Otherwise what was the reason to rush him into the last 3 games of the regular season?

  4. Tonight is obviously a must win for the boys. At least make this series competitive! It's only two games. Teams have come back from worse but I can't see them winning 4 straight if they lose tonight. Time to see what this team really has left in the tank, LGD!!!

  5. This Devils team is like the Rangers we’re last year – learning on the go. Most series and games in the playoffs were come from behind. I think the difference though is goaltender.

  6. Devils 😈 were down 3-1 against Philadelphia in the Series & Devils came all the way back and won the series, not saying they will do that now but Devils have done it before ya know? So that’s a great sign

  7. Rangers were up 2-0 on Tampa last year, then lost the next 4 to loose in 6 in the ECF. That was a lesson they needed to learn, and will make it that much harder on the Devils to pull off the comeback. I fully expect the Rangers to play their best game tonight. This Devils team is scary good and will be an absolute beast in the future. They have not been playing bad, as much as the Rangers have took away their options. When the Rangers get the puck deep and force the Devils to come 200ft they are a different team. The Devils thrived all season on the rush from the neutral zone. Limit those neutral zone turnovers and the Devils have no answers.
