Philip Danault slash on Connor McDavid – inexcusable missed call

Phillip Danault took a two handed chop at Connor McDavid near the hands. With Teuvo Teravainen getting a broken hand this week on the exact same play and now out for the playoffs, what will it take to crack down on this consistently once and for all?

  1. It’s called playoff hockey!
You need to decapitate someone to get a penalty
And that’s the way it should be!
The LGBTQ+ community making a fuss about this should stick to figure skating if they can’t handle it

  2. After all the time you spend defending McDavid’s two violent and dangerous boards on Kempe and Anderson early in the year I could care less. Every commentator that defended McDavid and called King’s fans cry babies for for complaining about the board that injured Anderson needs to shut up and go over their own comments on that play and apply them here.

  3. Living in a clown world where everything is backwards like these clown refs clowning a series to favour one side because of a biased clown league. 🤡🤡🤡🤡

  4. That's not a really obvious missed call. He hit the stick and not the player also the stick didn't break. If anything you could call a penalty on McDavid for embellishment for falling down into the boards.

  5. Usually only gets called when the other players stick breaks or is knocked out of their hands. Do you watch hockey?

  6. The officiating in the National Hockey League has degraded so much over the past 10 years…like you say in your presentation…its inexcusable. We see how difficult it is to even get referees in the minor leagues. This must be having on "knock on" effect to the talent pool that percolates to the marquis leagues (ECHL/AHL/NHL) as well.

  7. Seems that the NHL referees are in the same boat as the NFL referees, being paid to dictate game outcomes by lame and/or blatantly missed calls or fabricated calls.

  8. So, basically, refs are saying thats fine but tapping someones shin pads with your stick isnt, refs are in fact reffing 🤣

  9. Uh except for the fact that he didn't actually make contact with McDavid. Looked like a perfect stick check.

  10. Only McDavid fans would make a video about a missed slash lmao. There's typically several every single hockey game if you're new. One of the least egregious missed calls this playoffs tbh. It also wasn't even on the hands… and you're saying it's the same location as another play with a broken hand?? Take the bias blinders off for two seconds and take a step back lol

  11. Yeah… not near the hands at all. I can't tell if it hits his blade or the stick so not enough info to say if it's a slash or not.

  12. I didn’t watch the game, but maybe they should implement a slashing rule of 1/2 the stick length. If a player slashers at the lower half of the stick, no call. The upper half, call everyday. That should prevent hands from getting hit. This play didn’t make contact with mcdavid hand, yet it should have been bad if he did. That’s why there wasn’t call. They should really crack down on the rule or change the language round it for player safety. You can’t remove trying to slash so at least make it where you can and can’t slash…
