  1. If the habs are convinced PLD wants to come to MTL they should just wait and have an extra roster spot for a younger guy to develop while he becomes a ufa

  2. If there is certainty anything above ''being patient'' is too high of a price. If there isn't certainty now it's a stupid risk on top of it.

  3. Patience. We've been pulling the trigger every year for the past 30years and we never got a consistent, winning team with potential all this time.

  4. bro what lmao, the jets have absolutely no leverage in this and the habs can get him for so much less, legit like a 3rd round pick can do the trick. hes not gonna re-sign with them and the habs and jets both know that, they know montreals gonna get him for nothing anyways in 2 years, montreal is not gonna give more than a 2nd or a 3rd when they can get him for nothing

  5. I wouldn’t give this much for Dubois. I won’t give any favours to the Jets. Jets has NO LEVERAGE on the matter. Dubois IS LEAVING this club, most of their core players plans to leave too. Why should we give off that much assets when he’ll be coming to us most likely? Nah we are good . Smart GM play patience especially if it’s just to wait another year, I hate impatient actions.

  6. No 1st round pick and no prospects ranking above 10th. The rest sounds ok. Maybe Hughes could involve another team and take on a short term bad contract to sweeten it up. Any more than that is just too steep. This year's mid 1st round is likely going to be much better than any in recent years.

  7. Dubois is screwing over himself as well as winnepeg. Not only does this give the Habs great negotiation leverage with the jets, but with Dubois in contract talks down the road as well. This is the kinda thing where Kent Hughes could potentially knock 20 percent AAV off fair market value for what Dubois is today.

Dubois might as well be a leprechaun telling the Habs the exact location of his pot of gold.

  8. NO! another dubious Franco player? one Jo Jo is enuf! If PLD is signed thats 2 ! teams he s bailed on….he gets p o "d here he"ll quit again

  9. If the habs for whatever reason wanted to make an immediate move for PLD they likely wouldnt have to give up anywhere near that much as they hold all the cards. If Winnipeg demands a first its likely going to be that one from Calgary with that laundry list of clauses a prospect like Norlinder or Kapanen (who are good prospects but have been surpassed by others) Dvorak though would likely still be the roster player sent back

  10. I don't understand this he wants to go to habs so they have to go for him? Everywhere when he played he had some problém in locker room a people thing that in the habs it will be different ? When they have young guys good team of future they need this and also strip themself of 1 round pick and mesar ? Really?

  11. To be Honest , I would offer Sean Farrell or RHP over Mesar because our Left side is full compared to the Right side. Also Dubois can play left wing too.

  12. Any fan that would trade a fckn thing for Drioun 2.0 should do us a favor and go destroy another franchise.

  13. Fair deal Mesar could be really good but PLD is what we need right now to help Slaf with development

  14. All of that to get the guy 1 year earlier than when he would be free? Maybe considering we get rid of Dvorak's contract at the same time. This is a tough decision. Dvorak is in the prime of his life so his next couple of years should be his best so not sure I want to unload him along with a 1st round pick and Mesar.
I'm sure Habs management will take the right path for their plan to succeed and bring a cup back to Montreal.
If we do this type of deal it will because they want to make the playoffs next year and will do other moves to further that along.

  15. To Winnipeg : #28 Christian Dvorak (C) 4,5 M$/Yr and Josh Anderson (RW) 5,5 M$ + Montréal 2nd Round Pick.

    To Montréal : #80 Pierre-Luc Dubois (C) 6 M$/ yr or 10 M$ over 8 years

  16. GM's aren't fans they are businessmen, and Hughes will likely do a deal in the off season in good faith of business and not wait to get him for nothing. Players are commodities and more are always in the pipeline.

  17. PLD isn't a lock coming to Montreal, I only sign him if he's taking a bit of a deal , 7.5 -8 mil tops for him , dach is looking like our future 2nd line c right now
