This feels premature. Mika doesn’t have any goals, Vinny doesn’t have any goals, the only dman with a goal is Lindy of all people… Unlike the regular season, Panarin only has one turnover so far. Overall he’s been fine I think, and I’ve been very critical of him since last year.
Having said that, the boys need a big game tomorrow.

Trocheck, Mika, and Panarin have all been disappointing, despite an awesome 2 out of 3 games for the team. They need to step up in game 4 and crush any hope. The longer this goes, the more confidence/experience this young Devils team gains.

A little early to say that. But hey if they shot the puck more maybe it would end up in the net. Right? You have to shoot to score in the NHL?

It’s known Devils fan Larry Brooks article i remember his articles during the 94 series were so bias my uncle and dad stopped reading.People also say that Messiers Guarntee was directed at Larry for those articles

The first 2 games while he didn’t get a point he played well, was more aggressive, backchecked and made smart plays with the puck. If he sticks to that the points will come

I mean he’s not entirely wrong. At least to some degree… Kane and Tarasenko were brought into to unlock the best possible version of Panarin.
The 5v5 offense is heavily tied to Panarin. It goes as he goes.

Panarin hasnt shot well but he has done everything else very well, most importantly, taking care of the puck and putting in the effort defensively. Eventually some shot will go in but the most important thing is he hasnt made many high risk low reward passes that bite us in the ass and he’s still been able to make plays. Id take this version of Panarin over last years playoff version any day

Panarin has been struggling with his confidence but I’m at least happy that he’s getting prime scoring chances. He’ll bury eventually.
What I’m more worried about is fucking Trochek, man. That dude has been a giveaway machine and offense-killer this playoffs. I know he’s more of like a defensive forward and great at face offs but the dude has to be better at moving the puck in the offensive zone. Neutral zone as well. He kills our momentum time and time again.

Larry Brooks doing what Larry Brooks does, creating smoke. what gets frustrating about Larry, and probably what creates his sense of supremacy in the NY journalism space, is where Larry sees smoke, there almost always ends up being fire. I love to rag on him for his creative journalism, but the guy has foresight that rarely misses.
That being said, I’ll say that after game 3 of the first round, this feels premature as others have pointed out. the law of large numbers should lead to a very fruitful postseason (given a deep run) for many of the players who are expected to be lighting it up and haven’t yet.
