Are the Habs interested in Alex Killorn?

OK Guys, I’ve been reading alot of speculation online lately about the Habs potentially being interested in Tampa Bay’s forward.. Alex Killorn, and while his resume is definitely attractive right now.. I personally feel like it would be a bad decision to target big UFA’s that will be available this summer. Lets talk about it!

The articles that were in the video were screenshots from Habsfanatics.com, I highly reccommend you to check out this site for further Habs News,

Let me know whatcha think of this one down in the comment section!

  1. If they mean what they said on the regular season exit interviews, there's no way they go for this. They (allegedly) said they want to be patient and build to win.

Picking this guy up at his age and cap hit doesn't make sense. Habs should be ready to win between 2 to 4 years from now. Not worth it.

  2. Totally agree. The Canadiens are known for giving big money to players at the end of their careers .Just because he got 60+ points this season, doesn't meen he will do the same in the future.

  3. If he signs for 2 or 3 years around 3 mil a year I could handle it, brings a veteran presence and could replace hoffman if they can find a way to move on from him

  4. Killorn isn't a piece we intend on competing super hard with imo, he's winner who's been to a minimum of 3 cups finals and knows what it takes to win. That's all he's good for here.

  5. Habs aren't signing anyone that old, unless it is to help out on the cap and getting another draft pick or prospect in the process. Otherwise not happening.

  6. We’d have to overpay like crazy to get him and I wouldn’t want him even if we didn’t. He’s more of a piece for a contender than part of a rebuild.

  7. Points are way up across the board, come on. ‘22-‘23 point totals are NOT a true metric for a player.

  8. As a huge habs fan I agree do not sign Killorn , I'll also say I don't want them to sign ANY free agents this year!!!

  9. Think the rumours were because he grew up in MTL or something like that. East coaster

  10. He will cost way to much money for all our young guns that will needs contracts soon. No need right now, we are a couple years out of the playoffs (not so much because our team is horrendous, just because our division is so competitive)

  11. The only way I see Killorn signing with the Habs is if there is no other team willing to bite and he accepts a one year deal (similar to Klinberg last off-season and Taylor Hall the season before). If he is willing to sign at $5.5M it means we can flip him at the deadline for only $2.75M when 50% retained, and there will be suitors. Doubt it happens but this would be the only scenario he ends up being a Hab.

  12. just a little too old at this time and close to a downhill trend so pass on him…. he will not be there when we are finally ready to burst out

  13. It would make no sense to go for Killorn , the team is nowhere near a playoff run , Killorn at 33 is to old

  14. I don't see Killorn signing in Montreal for every reason you named. He's not a good fit for the Habs right now.

  15. Absolutely agree. Even if it was a short term, 1 or 2 year, contract there's a log jam of talent we have to work through to build our best team possible. No need to add an aging player to the mix that will take the ice time of someone trying to make the jump to the NHL
