I wanted to keep my expectations low for my Panthers, because even when they look good, they never get over the hump in playoffs. I’d be happy with just one series win. Now that we traded for Giroux and Chiarot, my expectations went through the roof.
I’d be annoyed for giving up so many draft picks and players that I’ve grown to really like, but because their roster is so deep and they’ve been consistently at the top of the division all year long, I think you gotta just for it. I’m both incredibly excited and incredibly nervous about the playoffs.

Florida has the best Top 9 in the NHL
As a flyers fan, they are a team that is perpetually stuck in rebuild while competing mode. Comcast will never allow a full rebuild. Their bottom line is more important to them than anything. We'll go nowhere and stay there.
Also, 100% disagree with you one the trade. G would only accept a trade FLA. We either took a deal or probably lose him in FA. This is a win, no matter how much of an L it is to watch him leave.

As a Florida Panthers fan, I'm disgusted!!! Our offense was just fine. Our primary need was defense. We just threw away pieces of our future for a rental player who doesn't meet our primary need and who will be gone after the season ends. What a terrible move by the Panthers!
I've spoken with other fans, and I'm not alone. We did not want this.

Do u think Claude Giroux is better than Brandon Hagel? I feel Hagel is better. We already know Giroux's ceiling. Hangel is young. Dude has put up more goals this year and has more room to grow. With that said I would probably gamble with the younger guy.

Claude Giroux will be second on the Philadelphia Flyers' scorer list for a long time to come. The closest pursuer (Sean Couturier) is 440 points behind and will catch up with Claude in about 9-10 seasons, if of course he stays in the team.
Who knows, maybe Giroux will return to the Flyers in the summer and sign a new contract…

Really wanted Giroux in Calgary on a second scoring line, mentioned various trade combos and Flames fans are all "But Dube/Ritchie/Mangiapane (or whoever I named) is better than Giroux", "it would mess with the Flames chemistry", "Calgary can beat anyone as they are!". Flames still need a top 6 guy who can put up points.

Yeah, I lost respect for this kid the second he said that Philly should go into a full rebuild. Why? They're only like, 3 of 4 decent players away from being the best team in the NHL again. They were the best team in the NHL just a few seasons ago, then lost game 7 in the 2nd round to NYI. They still have basically all the same guys. They have a top 10 goalie that's about to start hitting his prime years…. The ones they don't have, they made up for. And G will be "replaced" in the off season.
