Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury. I would refer you to the Evander Kane ….illegal hit" on Nazem Kadri. It got a suspension. Please re-watch the replay of THAT hit and then compare it to the Makar hit tonight…..If Evander Kane got suspended last year for THAT. The league has set a precedent. There is NO WAY IN HELL MAKAR should be playing next game. If he is, you not only owe Seattle an explanation, you most assuredly owe Edmonton one….Over to you Mr.Bettman. NHL can't have it both ways on this on this one.

I don't even like McCann… but that was a late hit on an unsuspecting player. I think Makar should've been tossed for that. Glad that Seattle was at least able to win the game.
It won’t be a suspension. Makar is a star. NHL will let them do whatever he wants. The fact that they kept it to a 2:00 penalty is incredible.

Not an excuse but maybe Makar wanted to follow through late to provoke emotions, expecting something back. It is the playoffs after all. But McCann was completely unaware, not expecting anything. Also, I don't think Makar understands that the puck is out of play, so he marks his man just in case. I think it is fair to suspend at least one game. I hope McCann is okay. Avs fan here.

Boarding….. Drove the head into the boards… With intent. Instant game misconduct. The rules… You can't drive a player not carrying the puck into the boards, obviously interference could have been called as well. But one, can see him drive the players head into the boards…….. That's intent.

This REEKS of Dale Hunter's cheap, late, dirty hit on Pierre Turgeon. I know I'm not the first to say it, and I haven't read practically any of the comments… But after seeing this hit several times it was the first thing I thought of. Hunter got 21 games, the proper penalty for Makar should be he sits for as long as McCann is out… but this League doesn't have the balls to do that. Makar isn't a kid anymore… not that that would even justify this hit.
