Don Sweeney Provides Patrice Bergeron Update | Bruins Interview

BOSTON, MA — Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney spoke to the media on Monday and left open the possibility that captain Patrice Bergeron could play in Wednesday’s Game 5 against the Florida Panthers.

Bergeron has yet to play in the playoffs due to an undisclosed upper body injury.

“Well we’re fortunate he’ll join us for practice tomorrow and we’ll gauge his progression and go from there,” Sweeney told reporters, per team-provided video. “As everybody knows, it’s day-to-day and we’ll see how he is when he integrates into other guys on the ice besides just himself.”

  1. If the guys are not 100%, I think they should sit. Cannot see the Bruins current lineup losing Wednesday.

  2. Seriously???? You called this an update?? It's the same story we've been told since Bergy left the game in Montreal. If you don’t have anything other than "we'll see"…or…"he's day to day" stop calling it an update. You updated nothing

  3. Well, at least we know he's practicing tomorrow. Patrice will Practice. Perfect. Go B's 13 more wins !!

  4. He should play if he can it’s the playoffs the B are a great team but we need our best players on the ice this is not the season games one loss at any time would not be good

  5. God sit Bergy till the 2nd round so Lomberg and Tkachuk don’t go after him and injure him again. B’s go up big and for sure a win tomorrow the end of of 3rd period is going to be a blood bath. Bert, Hathaway, and Mac are going to slay bodies and get pay back.

  6. I put him right out there if hes medically cleared. He nerds to get back into game shape, he is paid to play hockey and help this team win. You cant start playing semantics here, oh, lets redt him bc we won 2 games in row and lead 3 to 1, ok. Now we rest him and then we lose somehow , it can happen, you dont play arpund in playoffs, you have a team on the ropes, go for the kill shot, best players have to be on the ice, plus he needs live game reps.
