NFL / Detroit Lions Mock Draft 2.0 With Trades

In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris is joined by Jeff Risdon of the Lions Wire and the Detroit Lions Podcast own Michael Grey to mock what a full first round 2023 NFL draft might look like. The rules for this NFL mock draft are simple, realistic, defendable trades, and we walk through the first round of the 2023 NFL draft agreeing on the most likely picks by each team along the way. Well, other than the Miami Dolphins. We’ll make the case as to why each NFL team is projected to make the picks stated, and talk very specifically through both of the Detroit Lions first round picks, why the Lions might choose them, why they might attempt a trade, and how they fill the team’s needs.

  1. The 2023 NFL draft is almost upon us – who do you have Brad Holmes and the Detroit Lions taking at #6 and #18? Let us know in the comments below!

  2. I truly believe we are going to get Anderson at 6 and one of the best players in the draft is going to fall to Holmes 3 years in a row. If Bijon falls to 18 i believe we will take him. If not I could see us moving back to late first round and grabbing Gibbs. But if we walk away with Anderson and Bijon in the first without having to trade up at either spot this is an A+ first round. Add Benton, a qb, wr, te, cb, lb and a guard and we are cooking.

  3. Banks and Anderson is an A+ first rounder. I would love the Lions to even trade back into the late first to grab Gibbs if that’s where they think they need to move to get him.

  4. I believe you got it or you don’t you can be the best athlete in the world but if you ain’t got it, you don’t got it

  5. With all due respect, I feel like you all talk about Hooker the way the rest of the media talked about Willis last year. I know they are different players in different situations, but I just don't see what you do.

  6. Ok, I'll take that. In my draft, I had DL Carter, RB Bjan R, WR Hyatt, LB Trent Simpson, TE Laporta, OT Mike Hughes, K Ruggles, QB Haener, and S Hicks. These are my picks, not so much what I think Lions will do and I don't think the board will fall this way but I think it' would be an idea draft for me for the Lions. Personally, I would be good with trading back the 6th pick, no lower then 12th to get more draft capital then trading up a little with the 18th pick so we can get two picks in the 15th to 8th picks but it would depend on whose available at 6. I certainly wouldn't pass on Anderson or Carter but I agree that Carter will probably go at 5 and I think Anderson will go at 2 or 3. So, I think Tyre Wilson could be there at 6. If none of those 3 are there, then you could consider trading back and moving up from 18 is rumored. I would be good with getting Darnell Wright and Bjan with those first two picks if we did that maybe

  7. Remember, when people had to move up to get, Trey, Lance, Jordan, love, Zach, Wilson! Whatever you do, don’t reach for a quarterback!

  8. Everytime I try to watch this podcast I’m reminded of you shitty of a person Chris is. I wish Jeff had his own podcast

  9. Love the banter between you guys, first time seeing Michael, but hopefully not the last… Laughed my ass off with some of the comments🙌🙌🙌

  10. Be careful Chris! You know as well as anyone that Jager can bring the manliest men to their knees! 😳😬😖😅
