Thanks Michael and Skylar for this great recap of a very tough game … nice to hear about the Whiteout crowd experience and I especially liked your back and forth analysis of each goal and the overall performance of each team…. I look forward to your next posting.
If LB instead goes paddle down it's bad for him and the way he played the breakaway by putting is paddle over his pad gave him the better chance of stopping the puck. The trip was a complete accident any dumb jets fan that thinks it was tripping has never tried putting on full goalie gear and going into that exact same position. Laying out like that where LB's stick was for the save isnt comfortable at all and your instant reaction is to bring things back around.
And to correct you. Adin Hill was the backup in games 3&4 (Quick was scratched), while Quick was the back up for games 1&2 (Hill was reported as DTD). So Quick didnt even have a seat in the tunnet at CLC
IMO the Jets now find themselves down 3–1 and unlikely to win their current playoff series due to:
– poor scoring depth, something GM Cheveldayoff didn’t adequately address at the trade deadline
– Hellebuyck having last night allowed 2 ugly goals
– no 5-on-5 goal scored
Jets require an emergency landing , ,Mayday
3.5 goals a game is not Helle numbers.
Good one Remo. Long day for you. Many thanks.
Only player who was good on the first line and who gets dirty and tries hard to Neder. Conners? Where was he? Huge floater. Dubbie stop taking penalties. Shoot the puck all of them.
the jets need to get whatever they can for dubois in the off season. i know it won’t be much but anythings better than nothing. he has 0 heart and is so inconsistent
Hey, I know what can make the jets more competitive. We just have to activate a 9m a year player to dodge the cap when the playoffs start.
Good coverage and recap as usual. When 44 is out it really shows. The rest of the d core are basically 3rd pairing guys on most teams and get pushed around too easily. 88 has really struggled all series with and without the puck. Just way too many injuries to overcome and I hate to say it but Brossoit is winning the goalie battle thus far.
Right now, to me it looks like Vegas is gooning their way to the 2nd round.. Nothing but… Every game has had bad injuries of our best boys.
KC is trying to prevent getting injured, he's like the 2nd last guy left standing in the top 6.
I may change my mind at some point but right now that's my gut reaction.
Thanks for doing this, Remis and Skylar.
Vegas is simply a better team with more depth and LB does his job well enough for them to win….
Losing when your team is hurt sucks, especially in the playoffs. But Vegas also has dealt with injuries all season. At one time they played a stretch while missing 4 of their top 6 forwards, along with 2 of their top 4d men and their top goalie. It's all about WHEN the injuries happen. One of the biggest issues I see with the Jets is some of their puck management decisions. It cost them in game 3, and there were several more in 4 that lead to penalties.
Kind of irrelevant right now but if it weren’t for the inexplicable 2 month long slump we might’ve had a better round 1 match-up and maybe more of our famous white-outs.
Still, Go Jets!
This core needs to be blown up and if all the rumors are true that Dubois will be dealt at the draft. How can Chipman expect fans to shell out thousands of dollars to go watch a team play knowing that we can never keep top talent.
Vegas fan coming in peace, just wanted to say that sucks about Morrissey and Scheifele, those are tough breaks and big guys to lose. I did notice last night that Connor really disappeared on you guys though. Vegas is generally able to shut down players like Connor McDavid pretty well as a means to keep a team from gaining momentum, but it felt like Connor just wasn't as much of a presence as he was in the first three games. Good luck to you all on Thursday. Not to jinx our guys, but we do have a history of playing badly when coming off a successful road trip, so you never know. I've enjoyed discussions with Winnipeg fans this series, the team's got a great fanbase.
I absolutely loved it. GO KNIGHTS GO. KNIGHTS Don't need to go back to Winnipeg until next season.
