If they keep taking penalties, absolutely.

  2. ImJJboomconfetti

As long as they keep the puck out of our net they’re doing just fine. Everything there is an offensive metric except the one they excel in.

  3. Sirotto18

Yes, Holmstrom in for Clutterbuck specifically would do wonders.

Clutter is at Bailey levels of cooked

you see that expected goals against percentage? you see that its the lowest on the team? you know this is their job – not to score goals right? this is still an effective fourth line who can keep the opposition’s heads on swivels. no thanks

It has been time for at least a year now

    Parise – Cizikas – Fasching

This should be our starting fourth line next year after keeping envgall and getting wallstrom back

Not the line in that sense… it’s time to disband a couple of those guys from our roster

  8. Sublime1980

That would be at the expense of the other lines.

    So, no.

Let them out there to wear the canes down.

Break up the fourth line? Preposterous!!! All teams should be built from the fourth line and then up. This is essential when building a successful roster.

All other lines can be jank af as long as the 4th line gets priority.

I haven’t been able to watch most of the playoffs but for a long time I’ve felt the line is not what it once was. It used to be the line would frequently take over games even against top opponents. These days the frequency of that happening is reduced.

Even if it sticks together for the rest of this season, I think the team should be looking to move on from it next season and have Simon Holmstrom and Hudson Fasching to get Cizikas going.

double it and give it to the next person

Not unless your sitting one of them. Casey will be fine with any line but the other 2 not as much although martin did have a shocking few good games on the first line but that’s not what you dream of seeing in the playoffs

  13. Have to remember we will hopefully have Wahlstrom back next year. Find a way to jettison Martin and clutter and re-sign Engvall Parise and Fasching.

Too late to do it this year, ride it out and revisit in the offseason

And I say no still. Keep em

  15. I think that line still does its job.

Let’s do a thought experiment: if the first line did its main job (scoring) as well as this fourth line does main job, wouldn’t we be thrilled?

  16. liguy181

While they’re definitely not what they were, they’re still good enough (given what their job is (y’know, being a bunch of hard-hitting pests)). Martin and Clutterbuck still have one year left on their contracts, I can see them being kept together next season, but after that, probably not

Also, don’t forget that Matt Martin just had a career year. Granted, that’s a career year by Matt Martin standards, but still. He’s not cooked yet. Clutterbuck on the other hand… I’ll have to see how next season goes

I don’t know, I like the fourth line as it is. Martin is fine, and Cizikas can be clutch at times. Clutterbuck is solid as well

You stat nerds have no idea what you are talking about.

  19. daveloper80

isn’t that xGA number what we are looking for out of them?
