As revealed by Nick Kypreos on a recent episode of his podcast, the Ottawa Senators appear to be going out there with the intention of trading Derek Stepan, a centre in his 30’s whom the Sens acquired literally a month ago for a 2nd round draft pick.

Should this be true, what terrible asset management it would be.

  1. It was an overpayment for Stepan to begin with and he's been one of the worst forwards on the team.

  2. l was one among the few people who think Sens would be a surprise team after all the off season acquisitions. Never thought they would be this bad before 10 games into the season. They could fit into a team that slumps in the early going and thrives in late season. Could be or never be.

  3. lmfao the sens did the weirdest moves during the off-season i knew things wouldn’t work out galchenyuk was the best pick up low risk high reward everyone else they got really didn’t make sense

  4. Hey legorocks, can you make a video on which team (Red Wings, Canucks, Canadiens) you think has the best prospect pool and the most promising future. Love to hear you're thoughts

  5. I mean, you're assuming Kipper's sources are on the money. If it was a Friedman or a Lebrun or someone, but I'm not gonna assume the wheels are in motion on this.

  6. Telling you this new players whining to be traded thing it’s going to be basically be the end of the NHL. Welcome to the new NBA lol. Where if you’re not on a perennial contender you are somehow entitled to play for a cup winning team. I know this doesn’t have that much to do with Derek step on but I think it’s somewhat related because of the appetite towards trades right now. It’s like nobody’s safe. Maybe it’s just me

  7. I said when they traded for him that he was done and that he would be worst than he was in ARZ. Got bashed on capfriendly really badly. Seems I was right after all… Dorion is a joke

  8. He's literally the only player they acquired above replacement level this off-season and they want to trade him. What is the sens organizarion lmao

  9. "that sens fans love" referring to colin white. it could be just the sens group i'm in, but i've read people say he's overpaid and other teams wouldn't want to acquire him due to his contract and they need to get rid of him over other center on the team…

  10. vancouver offers eriksson and a conditional pick. conditions are on making the playoffs and re-signing.

maybe the rags send brandon smith and TDA. sens send stepan and coburn. garbage in, garbage out.

  11. as a habs fan, there's no one we have worth so little as to make a trade for stepan not be worse than the scott gomez trade. byron is our designated cap dump and he's useful, just overpaid.

if the sens want an asset back for stepan, they'll have to take on an even bigger liability.

  12. Shocked they gave up a 2nd and Jonathan Gruden for Murr. Anyone who watches hockey 'does the Ottawa g.m??' I dont think so. Because Murr hasn't been Murr since like mid 2018 or so. Then….. they turn around and give that has been what a 4yr deal for 25 million?? What in the world we that guy thinking. Anyway didn't wanna upset or disrespect any fans or supporters. It's not theyre fault. As a Pen supporter in Pittsburgh i happen to like when the Sens are good. Sens and Pens have played some great pucks n sticks. How about that 2017 ECF that went to a game 7 and overtime. You guys had us on the ropes. Would of been your cup to win. And had that happened i believe that owner Cugeeeen Melnyk probably keeps the team together.
