  1. This is the one game where the Oilers played a full 60 and managed to stay out of the penalty box. Definitely a recipe for game 6 if they want to close out this series.

  2. I really thought the kings defensive play in the second period of game 4 was poor, but I believe the dagger in the heart in that vital game was the goal to tie it up and the OT goal, both were soft goals by Korpisalo. Having said all that, I think the destiny of the kings is in their own hand. In the periods which the kings won, they were in the offensive zone more than Edmonton was. I do blame coaching a little bit for the game 5 loss because they didn’t open up the game which usually favors the team chasing.

  3. Hopefully these next two games the Kings can play a solid 60 minutes and I hope 1 penalty or less. Make them beat us 5v5. I vote Copley as well…shake it up…shake it up, oh woah. 😉

  4. The point about resigning Korpisalo is valid. Copley is more happy to be in the NHL and signed at a discount for next season. If you bench him for Game 6 he could take it the wrong way. Kings just mainly need to put together a full 60.

  5. Last kings playoff series win was 2014 when kings won the cup. Unless a miracle happens, this will be another early exit. In almost 40 years of watching kings hockey I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly. Mostly bad and ugly. Watching this kings team I have noticed they do have heart but it takes more than heart and valiant effort to win in the nhl playoffs. I'm not sure what the assessment of this team is in the eyes of the kings management but kings have lots of holes that need to be addressed. Observing Ontario reign this year doesn't give me much hope. Where do kings find the talent to fill in the offensive needs that they have. Size is another issue. Kings need to get bigger yet be skillful to compete with the likes of oilers, Avs, or Vegas. So many needs and so many questions. One thing is for sure, kings can not comeback with the similar lineup next season or it will be the repeat of last two seasons come playoff time.

  6. Eddie, the Kings played cautious. The played not to lose instead of going at them. Their PK is soft! They should attack the wall players, meaning go beyond the dots! This series is over, I'm afraid…

  7. The Kings need a new direction with a head coach change. The LA Kings roster should not be any part of player development. The Reign is for that. I like the trade for D and G before the trade deadline. My first complaint this season was the head coach and has never changed. The Kings look like they never solved defensive issues in the regular season because ALL the problems remain in the playoffs. Credit goes to Edmonton. The coaches and players are 'all in' and setting a good example.

  8. Oilers guy here. love your analysis. Can't believe ESPN bumped the game for a game 20 out of 4000 for a baseball game. Shame about the little girl. Nice to some Kings fans kicking in with the Ben Stelter Kids with Cancer fund. La Bamba!!!

  9. Chito in a door lock that’s how we have been playing honestly after Doughty and kopi retire this team needs to bring in some big names and the training staffs job also must be reviewed during the off season why are we always dealing with injuries while the other team is 100% fine 🤦🏻‍♂️

  10. I said it before i don't think either one of them r a number 1 goalie right now Eddie they r both excellent backups

  11. And i said before also that the oilers r a bigger stronger team and they r winning most of the puck battles and i think the golden knights r also tougher but i was hoping the kings could use there speed and tire the oilers out but i still think its going 7 games GKG

  12. Thank you for this analysis much better than your game four analysis. One thing I am noticing is Edmonton is getting better at playing the Kings as the series moves on. Yes it took them awhile but I think they have finally figured out how to break Kings 1-3-1 defense. Kings are going to have to check there emotions at the door and play a perfect game to beat these Oilers. Above all they can't take stupid penalties. I don't think they can, they seem to thrive getting in the after whistle bullshit. Edmonton just has to play there game and I think they win hands down. Go Oilers Go!!!!

  13. Game 4 truly hurt the kings mental psyche. I don’t think we have a chance to win this series cause oilers looks different and are hungry and the kings just look unmotivated trying to defend their power play and top players. They’re too passive and chasing players and leaving wide open players.

  14. Anyone find it weird how the kings and golden state warriors have the same exact wins and loses as the kings?

  15. In my opinion, I think Korpisalo has been playing well. He has made some amazing saves and has kept us in the game MANY times. Yesterday was a crap show for him because defense was absent. They were getting tossed around, had no puck control, and could not clear the puck AT ALL. I will say QB messed up, but still, defense was crap, Korpisalo could only do so much.

  16. Oilers fan and former goalie. You can't blame Korp for like 3 of those goals being redirects. Nothing to be done to save a goal off Hymans mug lmfao.

  17. I would still put Korpisalo in net. He has been mostly solid, the only stoppable goals he has allowed were in game 4 with Kane's tying goal and Hyman's OT winner. I would like to see a bit more pressure/aggression on the PK, I know it's the best power play ever but too often they just seem to be standing round waiting for the shot to come or letting the puck carrier get into prime shooting position on the ice. Go Kings Go!

  18. First off, love your analysis on the series. It’s been great to listen to everything and if the kings have an early exit I’m sure I’m not the only one who would love to hear your analysis on all the series moving forward through the rest of the post season! Korpisalo should start just like the oilers going back to Skinner, he got them there so ride or die with him. Keep up the great work!
