For me, Reinbacher only starts to be a good option for the Habs at #7, not #6 or higher because Bedard, Fantili, Michkov, Carlsson, Smith or Benson could be more valuable for us in my opinion.
Hello, je viens de Suisse et donc j’ai vu jouer Reinbacher toute la saison ! Je l’ai beaucoup observé étant donné que je l’avais dans mon pool de hockey haha… En vrai il a des qualités incroyables que ce soit son patinage et sa vision du jeu. Par contre j’ai pas trouvé incroyable son niveau sur le PP (oui ça peut changer, mais je tenterais pas le coup étant donné qu’on a déjà Mailloux et Hutson…). Bref je sais pas si c’est vraiment la meilleure option
En vrai j’ai juste pas trop envie que le CH le draft, car j’ai vraiment le sentiment qu’on doit plutôt aller chercher attaquant ou gardien avant de drafter des défenseurs si haut

With the 5th pick, Montreal has to go for the BPA which is not Reinbacker even though he is the best defenseman of the 2023 draft. The only reason why Reinbacker will be a top 10 pick is the same reason why Kotkaniemi ended up being drafted 3rd overall. Back in 2018, there were not any good centers at all available in that draft but Montreal needed one badly. Since Kotkaniemi was the best center available on that 2018 draft, his stock started climbing the draft board as the draft date was getting closer because centers are very valuable to any teams. Kotkaniemi should have been a mid first round pick at best based on his talent but Montreal went for needs and took him instead of going for the BPA which was Brady Tkachuk…that was a huge mistake!!! In 2023, the same thing is happening all over again with Reinbacher since Montreal needs a right defenseman badly in a very weak draft year for defensemen. Reinbacher's stock is getting better and better as we are getting closer to the draft day because every team needs a good and big "right" defenseman but according to some scouts, he is not a top pairing defenseman. His ceiling is top 3 or 4 defenseman, but he needs to work on his puck control and offensive, so he could become a defenseman like Jeff Petry at best…Mailloux has a lot more offensive skills in his toolbox compared to Reinbacher who is likely better defensively. Again, this a very good draft for forwards and a very weak one for defensemen, so why the heck would they draft a defenseman???…It is the same situation as in 2018 all over again !!!
Hey!!! How can you say that Reinbacher will be a real stud with the 5th pick!!! The scouts say that he may be a top 3 defenseman at best !!! The only reason he is being compared to Moritz Seider is because they may have similar style but Seider is taller, quicker with more offensive potential. The NHL is a copycat league, so Montreal would likely try to repeat what Detroit did with Seider by drafting him 6th overall against all odds…Good luck!!! Usually a top 5th or 6th pick should bring in a top pairing defenseman BUT THIS DRAFT IS LOADED WITH GOOD FORWARDS not defensemen!!!
As a Jets fan I am begging Hughes to select Reinbacher.
