    hey, bruins fan here. i gotta admit, the whole of regular season i was expecting the Leafs to choke again in the postseason, and i “couldn’t wait”. but let me tell you, when i tuned in to game 1 in Toronto i was hooked immediately. All of my expectations went out the window and i quickly started cheering for the Leafs. Game 1 seemed like an introduction to leafs fandom. everything that could’ve gone wrong, did. i chuckled at the irony but tuned in to all the other games, and let me tell you… game 3 and 4 were batshit insane but as i was watching steve dangle losing his marbles, i believed… i believed in them tying and getting the W. After OT in game 4, i was ecstatic! despite all the history between Bruins and the Leafs and despite the fact we’ll most likely meet in the 2nd round, today i believe that one of the ugliest and most painful playoff records in recent memory will be broken. The Leafs are sending the Lightning home. Tonight. LFG LEAFS!

    I gotta be honest. I’m super anxious.

    Not of losing, but of winning. Like losing I know, I’m well acquainted with losing. I know how to react to a loss. It’s well within my comfort zone.

    Winning on the other hand… I have no reference for it. It would completely turn my life upside down. I would have to reexamine all my beliefs about myself, the team and life. How would I even behave? What would be the right conduct? How do I get through winning without feeling like I’ve lost?

    So nervous for this one. Huge huge game for the boys to prove they can dig even deeper than they have and just go out and win regardless of the circumstances.

    I don’t care if it’s ugly. I don’t care if we cruise to an early lead or need to battle back in the last seconds to pull it off. Could not care less how sharpness look, if the lines are gelling, if Keefe’s blender works or not, if we institute our will or need to work off the backs of out heels against a TB team that looks elite.

    Don’t care about any of that – as long as we get the win in this one.

    Please play a full 60 minutes of good hockey. Win or lose. Be in a the game start to finish. That’s all I want. I hate getting so down on my guys when they absolutely shit the bed for 45 minutes of a game.

    One thing I think we need to keep in mind here is that the Leafs have fought to gain a 3-1 lead and we all wanted a 3-1 lead for the express reason to not *have* to win three in a row to make it out of the first round.

    So with that being said, can we not get all pissed and frustrated if they don’t win three in a row and end up losing tonight? If I hear another word about “killer instinct” my eyes will roll so fast they’ll get pulled over.

    You know in games like this I usually have a ton of anxiety and that feeling in the pit of my stomach but for today fuck it I don’t give a fuck we got this game. No anxiety just go out there and beat the fuck out of these guys

    Toronto based teams are 6-1 since I started my vacation. If the Leafs win tonight I may have to just bite the bullet and quit my job.

    I know we all want to see something new and fresh, but it’s worked three times in a row so I just think we need to stick to the plan. If the Leafs can score more goals than Tampa, they have a great chance of winning and closing out this series.
