Picked up a jersey recently and noticed Sportchek was cheaper price wise for what looked like the same Adidas royal blue Jersey, took some side by side comparisons as was not too sure what was different. Hope this helps anyone else who also wondered why the price difference.

Ice District has 2 types of cresting, one is the on ice kit which is more expensive and matches what the team wears. You can get the same for cheaper at Pro Am Sports.

Yah the underlying jerseys are the same but the way they are crested is different. The ‘pro’ versions are stitched while the normal versions are ironed on. I have one of each and it’s almost impossible to tell the difference, although I suppose the stitched one should hold up better over time

The one with the raised blue embroidery is how Adidas crests 3 layer jerseys. That’s how they come from the Adidas factory. That’s what you’ll find as typically the $250 option. (Ice district charges more)
The one with multiple layers is either stitched or pressed. The way to tell is to see if there is an inside stitch to the numbers. Stitching is $110 for places like Sports Closet (my choice since it’s family run) and it’s done by licensed NHL cresters, so the colours are matched correctly. (They can do any team, and it would be matched.)
Ice district would usually sell both but even the Mom and Pop shops are selling out of the Adidas pre-crested jerseys.

The one on the right has intense number stitching …. 😳

If anyone wants their jerseys done 100 percent correctly, they should be having the kits added by Elite Sportswear since they do all of the actual Oilers on-ice jerseys.
