Very unlikely this was intentional as Roy initiated heavy contact. It looked like kane was trying skate around Roy and ended up taking him down by accident. Roy didn’t execute the hit correctly and ended up losing his balance.
I’ve seen the clip many times and it’s obvious kane was trying to go for the wrap around and set up a pass or shoot. Roy came outta nowhere and tried to deliver a BIG hit and ended up getting embarrassed. Kane was trying to move outta the way. It’s Roy’s fault…
I think Roy was going to try and run him into the boards as he brought both arms and stick back and was starting to go forward, but Kane beat him to it and out muscled him while he was off balance.
If ROY wasn't so busy trying to embellish (as every LA player has been told to do in this series, and have succeeded), he wouldn't have put himself at risk of injury and maybe finished his check. Even had the flailing arms and the look back at the ref….LOL. These LA clowns are pathetic.
Kane was moving his momentum with the puck, Roy was moving into Kane and against the movement of Kane and the puck. Maybe a sweep with the elbow to deflect the hit and keep position onto the puck. It was a defensive move if anything. What else could he do? Catch Roy, pick him up and break him over his knee? lol. Roy put himself right in the danger zone and tripped over Kane. A little bit of Hockey Aikido there.
