  1. Are you a Red wings fan as well as Canucks? Also Lego, Im a Canes fan so would love to see you talk about them a little bit more ❤ Thanks man 💪🏼

  2. Why TG, who needs this has been? As a wings fan why add him for such a large salary? Isn't the large salary the reason Yzerman Vrana??? I think he is loosing his mind?

  3. Dodged a bullet there. Yzerman clearly saw fit to throw this season in the garage bin, so let's do it right and try for a top 10 pick.

  4. i heard it was part of another deal steve selling another RW forward but ended up keeping? Perron?

  5. Phil GM said that he knew it was contingent on the Wings moving someone else like Suter (UFA) or Zadina and I think Yzerman was trying to package JVR and the player he was trying to move to flip a 4th rd pick to a 1st. It would have gone like this: JVR to Det for a 4th or 3rd, JVR and Suter/Zadina to the mystery team for a 1st or 2nd round pick. Phil – gets a pick for a UFA, Det upgrades a pick from 4 to 1 and gets something for a UFA/Zadina, mystery team gets 2 pieces in one deal for their playoff run. When the second deal fell apart, so did the first.

  6. Yzerman said he wasn't a buyer "under any circumstance" in his press conference yesterday. "Not yet." 🤔

  7. Another crap team with players on bad contracts expecting to be bailed out by other teams. These guys are worthless (in hockey terms)

  8. Detroit is a mess right, a complete mess. I never thought we'd be what feels like starting over in yr 4. Last off season signing bums at 6 mill per for 5 yrs I thought those moves were over. The whole free agency situation was baffling but not something we cant recover from. Play our young guys stop calling up undrafted fa bums. Id rather lose with youth n we are about to lose lose lose.

Detroit doesnt have high end talent or its to young. I still trust Yzerman but it needs to be through the draft. Ill wait another 3-5 years provided we keep doing what we did trade marginal talent for high end draft picks. I trust Yzerman drafting skills n trade skills. No more free agency panicking until we are a player away.

  9. I believe Yzerman was only going to be taking on 25% of JVR contract for salary reduction only. So, it would make sense for Yzerman only helping out for a 3rd or 4th round draft pick. However, Yzerman already used up all of his salary retention options.

  10. This is what I think happened.
RW was a third party in a deal where RW keeps 50% of JVR's contracts to one of the teams that are in the playoffs. That team could be anyone with 1.7-3.5/Mil in cap space left.

The player that RW needed to move was Vrana and it was only about freeing up his cap and that is the trade that took time because only the Blues were willing to receive him.

If we look at the return of Vrana, that deal is very team friendly and if we add a pick or player in the return for JVR, then Vrana's deal will not be so bad. When things drag on for Vrana, we all know that no team took him when they could. The reality for Vrana today is still cheaper than buying him out, WIN/WIn for all.

  11. It had to have been a red herring, or part of a deal to actually send JVR somewhere else that’s actually got a shot at the playoffs and cup.
Because getting someone who’s 33 years old, who isn’t really setting the town on fire 🔥, on this very young team makes no kinda sense!

  12. Here’s an “out there” hypothesis: Friedman was seeing other people tweeting out his same breaking news and he just wanted to throw something false out there to see if anyone would repeat it.
