Memories..from the corner of my mind
When hockey was hockey……..
The forgotten Canadien great Yvan Cournyer, man was he an outstanding player!!
Nice job of interspersing photographs with the video and film. Effective montage.
Only the Rangers (twice) and Sabres defeated the Canadiens in a playoff series during the 70's.
This is from CBC's broadcast.
The clinching game was also seen on NBC in the United States.
Hello. Do you have video some matchs from 1973? If you have, please answear me.
The 11th cup of Richard
Greatest play by play announcer EVER!
Dryden GOAT
The Stanley Cup Parade took the usual route.
no one could crank a slapshot before the blue line. only lemaire. no one else even thought of it
I wish you could dig up Blackhawks 8 7 game five victory full game on TV that would be great
So good to hear Danny Gallivan and Dick Irvin Jr. On the broadcast!
This is when the Habs were great and not these days with incompetent GM and missing the playoffs every year now!!
Long drought. 27 years now. Never imagined I’d see them go that long without winning the cup.
Great team!
Montreal Canadiens 1973 Stanley Cup Champions, !! GO HABS GO !!
Keith Magnuson: terrible defensively as usual.
Born in 64, I've been so lucky to have witnessed all those Canadiens cup victories in the 1970s.
Tous les combats Pierre Bouchard du Canadien
When hockey 🏒 was great! #DannyGallivan
Bobby Hull could have made the difference here but he left to WHA
Last of 11 Cups for Pocket, first of 6 for Big Bird Larry and of course Flower. Too many greats to mention them all. As always, the under appreciated great Lemaire in the thick of it, at his best in playoffs — second only to Beliveau in Habs playoff points. Retire number 25!!
All 3 teams that Montreal faced in the playoffs in 1973, Buffalo, Philadelphia and Chicago, gave Montreal a tough challenge. Actually, both Philadelphia and Buffalo were more impressive than Chicago. The scores of the games Montreal won against those two, were closer than with Chicago. In the following years, both Philadelphia and Buffalo became powerhouses, the Flyers winning 2 Stanley cups, and the Sabres being a 100 pt team for several seasons, and being in the thick of things.
Funny, it seems like yesterday and not 1973 at all.
Great team
