One rule for us, different rules for everyone else…..

Dude I’m honestly just glad he could even move. When I saw him kind of roll twitching on the ice I legitimately expected to see medics coming out with a board to take him off.

  3. Kitchen-Ad-5571

looked almost as bad as the lemieux vs draper hit.

  4. redwireEOD

Hits like that put people in wheelchairs for the rest of their lives. Sickening.

  5. MiniSpoogie

And look at those fucking Seattle fans banging the glass as he’s on the ice hurt…. bro come on…

  6. TwooMcgoo

This is what really makes me miss Kadri. Remember when Lindgren hit Donskoi, and Kadri beat the hell out of him for it? That’s how you stand up for your teammates.

What was the penalty actually called? Shouldn’t be interference, he was in action with puck. Was it boarding… no because it wasn’t a misconduct, right?

Sooo I’m confused about what they called and how it fits the mold for reality.

To be clear. I think it should be a major boarding.

If the Avs get another goal or two I hope someone beats the shit out of that punk

“In ice hockey, the boarding call is quite often a major penalty due to the likelihood of injury sustained by the player who was boarded, and officials have the discretion to call a game misconduct or a match penalty (if they feel the offense was a deliberate attempt to injure) on the offending player. However, in the North American professional ice hockey league, the NHL, if a major penalty is assessed and the boarded player sustains a head or facial injury, the offending player receives an automatic game misconduct. If no injury is sustained, then a minor penalty will be called.”

How is that not a major?

  10. manbeqrpig

Honestly it’s the exact same situation as the Makar hit. Minor penalty that deserves a suspension

  11. WeyHybrid

Dirty hit if I’ve ever seen one. He better have a hearing

  12. superavsfaneveryone

This is the problem with the NHL. Cogs is made of rubber and isn’t seriously injured and thus won’t miss a game, so this is a minor with no review? That hit is literally what they show as an example for a major boarding penalty. I would love anyone to explain to me with a straight face how Makar’s hit was worse than this.

  13. milehighrukus

At least these morons can see what an actual dirty hit looks like.

  14. gisellecohen

So I guess hits that result in the head going right into the boards are okay? Or does the league just pick and choose when to enforce rules?

  15. rhykingtheviking

This shit was worse than the Makar hit. If Eberle isn’t suspended like Makar or worse, then the whole league and players safety needs to shut the fuck up forever. They’re literally the biggest cherry picking motherfuckers if I’ve ever seen

  16. anemic_royaltea

    Lemieux-esque. No, the other one.

  17. OhmyGhaul

One of the most dangerous hits in the game and NHL player safety won’t do a damn thing.

  18. lordmarboo13

Ebs isn’t a dirty player. He went in for the hit and Cogs turned at the last second. In real time, you’re not making that shift out of it. Unfortunate hit but there shouldn’t be no fine or suspension. Get the 2, sure , but that’s it

  19. Man saw #’s for 2 minutes before deciding to make this hit. Probably won’t have a hearing because injuries determine suspension not dirty uncalled for hits

  20. Scoreycorey515

Better result in a suspension or the whole process is trash.

  21. Scoreycorey515

I’m surprised that he came back in the game and that he’s not even out for the series

  22. DeadStringScrolls

Just the NHL doing NHL things. Can’t have refs be getting overruled and have hurt feewings.

  23. Averagebass

Cool Kraken are my new least favorite team.

  24. allkindsofgainzzz

Anyone that says this isn’t as bad as Makar’s hit is a fucking moron.

  25. Dwarf_Druid

The fact that our guys didn’t start playing dirty and taking cheap shots on them after that — they’re either patient enough to play the long game or far quicker to forgive.

Meanwhile, after Makar’s hit, the Kraken decided anyone was fair game and were taking cheap shots and making rough hits/checks left & right!

Well. Bad hit. But Cogliano isn’t a little bitch like McCann so he came back. That might actually hurt Eberle’s chance of getting suspended
