  1. Great vid… and ya totally agree on the upside in kravtsov game…. And surrounded with young Russians on the rise like kuzzy podz and mikheyev should be good for him to rebound to the player he is drafted just to spots behind huggy bear… and Lockwood is a poor man’s motte at best… all heart and lacking the finish wish him all the best in the apple…

  2. Low risk deal. What you hear from rangers fans is that he wasn’t good at getting into puck battles and had to work on his skating. So maybe he works on that with ratu (who basically has the same scouting report) and and we come out of it with 2/3 of a second line in a couple years…Only thing is we still have a TON of wingers and desperately need centers and D (specifically of the right handed variety).

  3. I’m a Ranger fan and absolutely loved the potential Kravy brought to the table. I do not believe he is a “bust”, but the reality is that the Rangers played him for 20 straight games on the 2nd line. The truth is he just couldn’t get it going. If you don’t know that is Panarin and Trocheck’s line. Once he could produce with that sample size of games we essentially scratched him because he is no where close to a 4th liner. Same reasons you were talking about Lockwood. His problem in my opinion was that he needs space to put the puck in the net. In KHL the ice being bigger and the players being a step slower helped him greatly. I believe once he gets more comfortable in NA, he is a 1st rd talent. It was a no brainer for you guys and a salary dump for us (for the Kane deal). Great vid. I’m rooting for Kravy.

  4. Great trade! Kratsov, Podkolzin, Kuzmenko, Micheyev, and Gonchar. Canucks likely finish with a 4-6th overall pick at this rate and we may add Michkov

  5. Rangers fan here. Kravtsov never really got a chance in NY. Yes, he was given time on the 2nd line, but then he'd be benched for any little mistake and wasn't given any power play time. There was no rhyme or reason to how Gallant used him, or sat him out. This kid has huge potential and Vancouver gave up a bag of peanuts. Any Canuck fan not happy with this trade probably is just never happy anyway. This was a complete steal for you guys, especially if he's given a true chance to show what he can do.

  6. Sometimes a guy is stuck on a team with so much depth that they can't break out. Not saying he'll end up being a JT Miller by any stretch of the imagination, but even if 40pts is his ceiling, that's a win.

  7. If kratsov hit a wall in NY, canucks are probably the best place in the NHL right now for him to break out. Kuzmenko alone should be a massive influence on him. It's a gamble 100% worth the price they paid.
