How much pressure is on Toronto’s ‘core four’ to close out the series?

Following their Game 5 loss, was there anything that could give Leafs Nation flashbacks of years past? How much pressure is on Toronto’s core four of Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, John Tavares and William Nylander? TSN’s Bryan Hayes joins Jay Onrait to discuss.

  1. Toronto's backend is no match for Tampa's backend. that's where the difference lies and why Tampa will win and why Tampa has won in the past.

  2. WHEN they fail you HAVE TO TRADE THE ENTIRE CORE! Why would Matthews want to stay with all that horrible pressure when he can go anywhere else, still get paid, AND actually win a round/cup, WITHOUT the constant scrutiny? Same goes for Willy and Marner. I would trade all 3 plus Rielly and JT for as many first round/high picks as possible. Also, shitcan Keefe. He’s complete trash.

  3. When the leafzzz 😴 get knocked out, M.M. could always sell autographed, taped, plastic forks to the leef lemming faithful. 💰
    Did somebody say, Skip ?

  4. They need to play with the same urgency that they play with when trailing in the final minutes of a game.

  5. Leafs fan best just enjoy good regular season records & accept that this Leafs core might never win a playoff series.

  6. It’s not a good thing when your number one guy (Mathews in this case ) has a quiet night in a Stanley Cup playoffs elimination game. That ain’t right at all. Do you think McDavid ever has a quiet night ?

  7. These players are pros ,they have been in tight spots before in their carrers .The fan base in Toronto is what gives them the nerves along with the media!I really think they will win,but as a fan of all hockey I hope it goes 7!

  8. It simply comes down to the truth. The core are a bunch of betas. We need alphas to win in the playoffs.
