Putting all their top guys on Mcdaivd means Drai gets free range, he looks stronger and faster than ever. I’d prefer to stay 11-7, maybe give broberg some of Desharnais time just because of the speed issue, but having 29 and 97 out more to possible get the match up is worth it.
Klim plays limited but frequently valuable minutes. He's a hit machine in those minutes providing a degree of toughness that helps. For me it's always "If the price is right". Bouchard needs to be signed. McLeod. Several others. We'll see what we see but yes, I hope the Klim Reaper stays with us longer.
Now lets talk about Leon. First some bad. STUPID PENALTY in the 2nd period. MONUMENTALLY FOOLISH for a player that stressed we needed discipline. Does that not apply to everyone Leon? Now for the good, the player is incredible. Having Connor pull a lot of LA's attention so Leon can annihilate them at will doesn't hurt but you have to have someone able to do the annihilation. Leon more than qualifies. Even if he never hits the one timer again he can score from pretty much anywhere.
Bouchard had a great game too in many ways and I was thrilled to see Ryan being a pro, hanging around the net not doing a fly-by and getting the rebound in (even on a whiffed shot). Depth.
JP has been a healthy scratch for Carolina in its first two matches, I hope that’s not the end of his career. Maybe with Teravainen going down with injury JP might get the nod.
You could see Kostin holding his emotions in check. It's one thing scoring a goal and having the team with you through the cheers but here he was having 18,000 people cheering for him, alone… He is a keeper for sure.
McD may be shut down but he gets attention from the opposition that frees up others. Drai is in beast mode and it’s something to see. KK is a great addition to this team and should be kept. Lots of positives. Now time for game 3. 15 wins required
What I’m noticing is that they are all being quite defensive and sharp when it comes to the media interviews when they weren’t like that all season. To me, I think there’s something in that that doesn’t make me feel sure about it.

Klim is a keeper. He seems like a real gem on and off the ice.
