Fucking gross if Broissoit gets a Cup before Helly.
Every NHL player that reaches their 30s has dreams of being on a Stanley Cup contender. The trade deadline is full of high priced talent being shifted to this team and that team as rentals because they want to be part of a winner.
What Hellebuyck said foreshadows that when he becomes a UFA, he will have no objection to being traded if a contender wants him.

Hellebuyck has been great but I don’t remember him stealing any games for us in the playoffs. He was also just outplayed by his old back up.
Who trades for Hellebuyck though. Feel like we’re going to lose him for nothing, or a bargain at the deadline at best.
I’m ok with trading Helle. He’s given the team his best and they haven’t supported him. Get what you can for the guy and move on.
I’m all for trading Hellebyuck. May as well get as much back for him as possible as opposed to getting nothing.
He’s as good as gone after that quote. But as a consolation, he is going to get paid, and building a team around a goaltender can’t win you the Stanley Cup in the salary cap era. Your goalies should be making like $7M max. The closest you can get building around a goalie is a brief sniff of the SCF.
Maybe he should play better int he playoffs then. He got outplayed by a backup all series long.

Helle has done more than enough for Winnipeg. If he wants a trade he should be traded.
I could see Toronto trading for Helle. Goalie is their missing piece.
Helle has more in common with Grant Fuhr than Martin Brodeur. Poor guy is playing in front of a team focussed on run and gun versus playing defence.
If Helle stays the team needs to build outwards from him.

Sell the farm I feel like we can get a major haul for all our pending UFAs. Rebuild this team for the ground up I would prefer to watch a shitty team with future potential over a perennial disappointment
