Marc-Andre Fleury was ready to finish what Jordan Binnington Started

On today’s episode of Locked on Wild, we dive deep into the near goalie fight as part of the madness that was an 8-5 win for the Wild over St. Louis. We examine the events early in the game that led up to the altercation, including Binnington attempting to chirp the Wild bench after giving up 3 goals in a 2 minute span. We react to Marc-Andre Fleury’s comments after the game, as well as Ryan Hartman’s role in sending Jordan Binnington over the edge. We also take a look back at which historical Wild players we would want in the lineup if some rough stuff broke out during a game.

  1. Binningtons’s days are over in St. Louis. He has his chance this year to take the helm and has disappointed. Berube has had his fill and the temper tantrum couldn’t have anything with the fact he gave up 4 already in P2 and was getting lit up. I bet 1/2 his team was hoping he was going to take a few shots off melon. While I know many wanted the fight, just think if 29 would have gotten hurt. Duhaime, Dumba in the past, Hartman etc. It’s probably for the better they didn’t drop em. Collect the 2 points, that’s all we need to do, grab points and get out of dodge. Schen, he’s the one I wish the Wild would deal with, running at players R1 last April.
Maybe in MN someone flattens him, no love lost between these two teams. Last note, Reaves, shirtless for the post game interview, hilarious..

  2. How did Hartman get an unsportsmanlike after all of that? All Schenn got was a misconduct, but I was shocked he didn't get an extra 2 for unsportsmanlike when he smashed his stick on the boards. If Fleury sticks around for one more year, I'm sure he'll get another chance to fight with Binnington next year.

  3. Schenn should have incurred an additional Unsportsmanlike Conduct and upgrade the 10 Minute Misconduct to a Game Misconduct.

It would have been easy if Reavo wanted to get the back to back Gordy Howe Hat Tricks all he had to do was a bit of chirping the St. Louis bench. He had a great night last nite. To top it off, the TNT Crew were the Ryan Reaves Fan Club and they had two great interviews with Reavo.

  4. Everyone wanted that fight. Players on both teams said post-game not only would have it been great entertainment, it would’ve been good for the league and it would’ve gotten people talking and maybe even more people watching the game. NHL constantly talks about growing the game but always steps on their own feet.

  5. Binnington is a nutjob. You know he's one of those players on the team that literally everybody hates, much like Ryan Suter, but he's on your team so you gotta put up with it. For as horrendously bad as the 1st period was the 2nd period was the complete opposite and very entertaining. Sounds like, per the national media, Kirill is ahead of schedule. Duhaime must've sustained a concussion? Would've loved to see the goalie tilt……………..

  6. Best goon lineup in Wild history and it’s not even close, Boogaard, Fedoruk, and Chris Simon. All 3 on the team at the same time and all 3 got in some nasty fights in 1 game against the Calgary Flames
