Toronto Maple Leafs Calle Järnkrok AMAZED Fans.. Here’s How

Calle Jarnkrok had made a big impression on his first two days of practice with the Maple Leafs, but the team really caught their eye on Saturday night. The 31-year-old Swede scored both of Toronto’s goals in a 4-2 loss to the Senators at Scotiabank Arena. On an odd day that saw the team play two split-squad games, Jarnkrok and new goaltender Ilya Samsonov stood out, while forwards Denis Malgin and Alex Steeves also drew a lot of attention. Jarnkrok, who played nine seasons in the NHL with Nashville, Seattle and Calgary, led the Maple Leafs 2-0 with goals in the first and second halves. Samsonov stopped all 16 shots he faced before Ottawa recovered against goaltender Keith Petruzzelli.
In the first game, Steeves scored twice and Malgin once in a 4-1 win. In this case, Erik Kallgren and Dylan Ferguson combined for 16 saves. Jarnkrok, who signed a four-year contract worth $8.4 million this summer, scored goals so spectacular at training camp on Thursday and Friday that head coach Sheldon Keefe came back to watch them on video. “These are elite shots,” Keefe said Saturday night. Jarnkrok made his Toronto debut playing in Game 2 with Auston Matthews and Michael Bunting on the front row. Throughout his career, he has played at centre and on both wings, twice scoring a 16-goal season. “He’s a guy I’m really looking forward to,” Keefe said. “I’ve been looking forward to seeing him in the off-season and coming here in the morning he’s showing all the things I’ve learned to respect from watching him elsewhere.
