Source is dubious at best. Also wouldn’t make sense to sell until after the arena is build.
Anyways I hope the pig sells.

Wasnt this posted this morning? Wasnt it decided this morning that this source is as trustworthy as a politician?

I think people give Murray Edwards too hard of a time. I am not saying he isn’t an asshole but if you look at owners of major sporting teams in North America almost all are assholes, and I don’t think Murray Edwards would be in the worse 50%.
I would like to have better owners but fear an ownership group like they have up North.

Ah, yes, off-season reporting from an unknown site. Has to be true.

No clue who this source is, but it would be quite the story to release something like this with no credible sources. He even mentions a group is preparing an offer…

Excellent news

Would be great news if true

Seems fake and not just because of the source. The optimum time to sell would be after construction starts or when the arena is done. At that point, franchise value would grow by 200M+ at the least (on the backs of Calgary and Alberta taxpayers).
As much as I would love for Edwards to get gone, I’m gonna need something far more reputable before I get excited.

He has spent to the cap every year of the salary cap era. That’s basically all you can ask for in a team owner in a smaller market like Calgary. I’d hope any owner willing to pay the price tag would be too.

As much as I’d like this to be true, I’ll wait until I hear it from a source I trust

Everything you know about the Flames organization can be explained exactly by how CNRL is run

A “die-hard Canucks fan” writing for a crappy clickbait website claims without sources that Edwards wants out. And if so, that the other three will leave with him.
File this under bullshit.

I wonder if it explains some of the sudden urgency on the part of council. Perhaps the Houston deal was discussed and it prompted the city to comprehend the stakes. They’d blown their chance to drive a hard bargain.
