BOSTON, MA — Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery talked about what he might have done differently throughout Boston’s first-round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Florida Panthers.
“The only thing I can look at right now and say I would have done different is start of Game 5 I would have had (Patrice) Bergeron and (Brad) Marchand together,” Montgomery said. “Took me eight minutes to get to there. Don’t know if it makes a difference. That’s the only thing that I look at that I would change. I don’t have really much regret with anything that we did. That’s why I said I have to analyze more of the series and have a better, more intelligent answer about where we went wrong.”

12 goals 5 on 5 in the series. Lack of scoring depth killed this team. And Marchand was a no show all series.
I hope Jackass Jimmy Neutron Montgomery doesn’t win the Jack Adams because that series shows…poor adjustments, reckless decisions, no leadership. He floundered under the huge spotlight. he’s just a spectator.

Hate to be that guy but when the Panthers had too many men on the ice 3 times clearly with no call…it felt scripted.
This guy, Sweeney, and Neely should be jobless.
Should of put Bergeron with Marchand and Pastrnak as his wingers instead of Bertuzzi and Marchand. I feel like Swayman should of got the start in game 6, maybe even putting him in net for game 5. I feel like if this series is a best of 9 Boston would win.
You could clone Mike Keenan and the pair wouldn’t be this bad.
I would have pulled Pulled Ullmark after the 3rd goal in game 6, would have been a different story.
A coaching change can’t be ruled out.
Not regretting is coach-speak for not taking responsibility for making catastrophic bad decisions and avoidance of admitting guilt, rather than being honest for his blunders. Doubling down will only increase his appearance of aloofness in being head of arguably one of the greatest chokes in sports history.

Bruins are the most amazing team to watch this season. They are seen as the benchmark of exciting energetic great hockey all over the world. The guys have raised it to another level. We are fortunate to see such hockey nowadays. They will get stronger and better next season
another game 7 at home the bruins don’t show up.
As a longtime bruins fan, i always have loved watching them play win or lose, but when it comes to something like this, it just hurts. They worked so hard this year and just struggled in the end. Resting for next season 🤞

This guy was going to play Ullmark every game no matter what, until the fans made him change his mind in game 7, those last 2 goals Swayman could do nothing about, a deflection off McAvoy's stick, and a rocket shot when he was totally screened, McAvoy sucked wind the entire playoffs

Month’s decisions were a big part of this loss. Why he persisted with Forbort for the full series when everyone else could see he was struggling with the matchup and keeping a clearly injured Ullmark even though you have a good goalie on the bench to relieve the pressure – especially in game 5 when there was no pressure on us – were baffling decisions. Florida were the better team over the series and they out worked us throughout.
This team continued to break records til the end. Last record they got, biggest choke in NHL history. Clowns. Florida deserved it.
Everyone got caught looking at the records ignoring how the Panthers, first to beat Boston twice, played them so well all year.
Another wasted year and you gotta start wonder if Pasta, McAvoy and their top heavyweight will ever bring in a Cup.
