With Bruins exiting in the 1st, were our fans right with the “overrated” chants?

The game was 3/14

If the Hawks had lost that game instead, they’d have a better chance at Bedard.

So Bruins fan here. (Big soft spot for the Hawks)

I can’t make heads or tails of what the hell I watched over the last 7 games.

I suppose they were overrated. I think mostly Montgomery is overrated. Or rather I think the moment was too big for him.

I guess so. Can’t argue much at this point lol

Eh, I wouldn’t say overrated. NHL caliber players don’t just roll over and let a team steamroll their way to 65 reg season wins. Playoff hockey is just a different animal. Florida was 43 points behind them in the regular season but they looked tenacious out there. Mix that hunger with some lucky bounces, capitalize on a few mistakes, maybe throw in an unintentional hand pass and you’re moving on to round 2. To me, that’s the beauty of the playoffs.

I can imagine Bruins fans feel, to some degree, like we did after the 2017 sweep from Nashville. I remember just sitting there for several minutes unable to process my complete disbelief at the utter implosion I had witnessed.

Someone pointed out somewhere else (might be another subreddit or might be Twitter where I saw it) that the Bruins xGF and xGA and the results they were getting were the most disproportionate over a season ever since the analytical model used came into existence.

Problem with the Bruins is that they only get motivated in “important” situations, if something doesn’t seem like a threat to them they let off the gas. That’s why they’re overrated. A real good team knows anyone can be a threat at anytime.
