Leafs have to close this series out in game 6. With their history, no one would expect them to win a game 7.

was a leafs fan since i was born in 91. gave up on them 5+ years ago, they are talented ect but they cant handle pressure, the are never endingly disappointing. so much talent that cant hold it together when it matters.

Relax Steve and Leafs fans. Sure, they lost an importaint battle last night, but they haven't lost the war yet. Remember, the Leafs need to only win one more, and have 2 chances to do so, Tampa has no room for error, they MUST win 2 more, one at home, and one on the road, I still like the Leafs odds at this juncture. The Leafs in this series are almost identical to where Colorado was at at this point in the finals last year. Colorado and Tampa each had a game in the series where they got blown out, Colordo won two games in OT, one of which was the result of a totally freak goal by Kadri in OT, very similar to the OT goal by O'Reilly in game 3 last week. Colorado went into game 5 up 3-1, all Colorado had to do was seal the deal at home in game 5, but a team like Tampa is vicious when backed into a corner and in the fight for their life. Colorado lost game 5, making the series 3-2 they went back to Tampa and Colorado won the cup in 6. Sound familiar?? I think Toronto will do the same tomorrow, they'll close it out in Tampa tomorrow night, this is Toronto's to loose, NOT Tampa's to win right now.

I'm from Tampa. The Lightning know the playoff Maple Leafs better than any team in the NHL. I'm sure the Leafs are thinking about the '"curse". to suggest otherwise is absurd. The Lightning should take game 6. After that, don't forget about the "curse" and the Leaf will see game 7 in their barn. What happened last year? Steve Dangle is the best announcer in hockey. If Tampa doesn't advance, I'll root for the Leafs just to watch Steve Dangle lose his mind!

@SteveDangle I know this always gets buried in the comments, but I'm going to keep repeating it because it's true. The Leafs playoff struggles really revolve around their refusal to trap in the neutral zone. Holl missed his check in the neutral zone, but if the Leafs forwards looked to physically engage on rushing puck carriers through the neutral, Holl wouldn't have to whiff on a check, he could pay attention to his actual defensive duties and the Lightning wouldn't be entering the Leafs' zone at 150mph all the time. The Leafs HAVE to start knocking guys on their ass in the neutral or their grip on the series will become loose again.

imo, yes the leafs played better in game 5 than, 3 and 4. but they didn’t close it out and come back, tampa pretty much was doing the same thing as they have been all series
