Watching game 6/7 between BOS and FLA, I’m quite scared. They play quite similar to TB. Clogging up the neutral zone, really kinda neutralized Boston.

I’m still worried about the Leafs entering ozone. I feel like they need to take a page from Tampa’s book.

I mean I’m still gonna enjoy myself watching round 2 no matter what. But I hope the Leafs really zone in on that detail.

Can confirm, panthers also play in Florida.

I’m watching the Devil dummy the Rangers right now.

Holy shit if we make it past the Panthers and play the Devils, they are a problem. Fastest team in the league by far.

can we play more aggressive? why is our D sitting back so much?

Lol, we have some of the very best elite talent in the NHL. We truly should have been better than Tampa in every game on paper. I’ll give Tampa the benefit of the intangibles since they’re a dynasty who has all the tricks and that extra gear come playoffs. But we better boot stomp Florida. We are better everywhere than them. The leafs played afraid and tight against the bolts which is why we struggled. Now we need to relax and just realize we’re a far better team than Florida is and do our thing

    I’m worried about the Panthers.

They play a similar game to Tampa and we struggled.

Only things giving me comfort are that we beat Tampa (similar style), beat Florida in the regular season (doesn’t really mean much now does it), we are built to withstand their physical play, give them some physicality right back and have some scary skill + depth.

    Leafs in 6.

Hockey gods are probably sending this to 7, who am I kidding….

To me, Florida plays a similar game to TB. Keefe is right there. But they’re not nearly as good or as tough as TB. Florida has iffy goaltending, to say the least. And the Leafs stomped them most of the year.

The Leafs should win this. Florida should also have crested on their high with the Bruins upset. It’s hard to see the Panthers going beyond the first round. That said, who knows? Florida has already pulled off the biggest playoff upset in years, so they could best anyone. But IMO this is the Leafs’ series to lose.

  8. It’s really true especially in the ways that just troubled the Leafs the most. I feel during the regular season, Florida were the first team to prove that an intense forecheck could be an effective game-plan against the Leafs.

Tampa used that to great effect. But from about midway through game 4 they still struggled at times the Leafs were able to break the pattern more frequently and control the game more as the series went on.

Will present a challenge for sure, but I think the lessons learned from the six games against Tampa should carry right over.

Honestly I have no concern whatsoever, we handle Panthers, we can beat Canes/Devils, there’s honestly no goalie left that I feel can steal a series in the East, I’m not scared of any body…that path to the Cup finals looks really smooth right now.
