Oh what are the Flames going to do without Darryl?
Pretty crazy that the last remaining Cup winner is the Canes. 06 seems like a lifetime ago. But, I still go back and watch game 7 sometimes. It makes me happy. š
Predictions | Yesterday ~ 2-0
Devils over Rangers
Who goes? … Why is it Wheeler? š
Calgary is turning into a dumpster fire! Their 2 top players left after last season. Their gm walks and now the head coach is fired. Wow
As a canucks fan im used to dumpster fires
I always look forward to the Stanley Cup Playoffs but the fact that the Canes are the most recent cup winner that remains makes it even more interesting and storyline driven. Can't wait for what's next!
If Bruce wants to get a little bit of payback on Vancouver I'd be glad to have him in Calgary š
The Devils have Bernier too lol.
And the longest cup drought of the remaining teams is Toronto you know since 1964
Winnipeg seems short on team defense; have always emphasized offense; transition from solid defense would help offense
Keeping Bowness is a mistake. Anyone who just tries to shame their team after a loss and doesn't take on at least some responsibility can't build a good locker room morale.
Iām rooting for the Devils. Love how they play. Well, I love when they play well š
As a fan of hockey, I do feel bad for Boston. It's a good hockey town with knowledgeable fans that have shown me respect when I visited there after the Hawks beat them in 2013. Lucky enough to share a beer and good hockey conversation with a few of them. Pick up another good player and they will be right back in the playoffs next season.
Letās go Rangers! Oilers v Rangers in the finals š
What if Bergeron says he will only return if Chara does?
Laviolette will be new Flames coach.
I am, and at the same time, not looking forward to the Jets season review.
Yesterdayās record: 0-2
2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs record: 24-25
My pick for today:
– Devils
"You don't carry 3 goaltenders"….hey Shannon, I think GM Kevyn Adams has an argument that you can. At least long as one is halfway into retirement.
I feel like Bob Boughner (ex FLA, SJ head coachā¦currently assistant in DET) will get floated around in Calgary. And that would be a mistake.
Winnipeg is on track – small changes.
Last night was surprising, didn't expect both the Bruins and defending champs to go out in round 1, but that's what makes playoff hockey so good.
Yesterday 0-2 Overall 25-23
I took the Rangers in 7 on my bracket and I'm standing by it, Rangers for the win tonight!
As a Bruins fan, Bergeron and Krejci need to go. Its time. Old and slow, and not reliable to stay healthy.
Will be interesting to see Jonathan Toews getting paid 750k next season as captain of the Winnipeg Jets.
Rick Bonus is about as popular as a box of condoms at an Amish barn dance.
gonna miss sutters press conferences. But it was about time
Could see Boston missing playoffs next season, the choke just disintegrating thier team.
Sutter has always had a short expiration date. He gets results, knows systems, but his hard nose approach gets old after a few years….and sometimes older coach's start getting annoying faster….they get upset with play( not necessarily wrong) and gets hard nosed and bitter, skipping the good learning times, straight to the toxic level.
Hmmm take ex Canucks players , how about a coach …Bruce Brodreau š¤
Cue the Jeff Goldblum, there it is š
I was pulling for the Rangers but as I post this I knew it would be a battle and give Devils credit they left it all on the ice to win the series. Good luck the rest of the way Devils fan playoffs are a lot fun when your team's in but sucks once they are out.
Whether Sutter was too hard on the players or not, there were several players that severely underperformed. Those players need to take responsibility for that. I lost respect for Huberdeau when his agent sent that tweet, which seemed rather childish and cowardly, and acted like he had no part in it. You can't blame that bad of a year all on the coach.
So if he was that hated, thatās why all the talented free agents wanted to leave. Did not know that, but makes sense now.
Imagine an Edmonton and Carolina final. Rematch of 2006 with both teams having excellent years. Total offense vs total defence.
I hope Mitch Love gets a chance if only at interim to start with the Flames as HC, he's done miracles with the AHL squad and if Flames are gonna be successful it'll have to involve the youth there coming up.
This was the best thing that couldāve happened to the Calgary Flames. About time Sutter got canned.
It wasn't spoken about much but Sutter completely lost the room. Exactly the same thing happened in LA. Exactly the same issues as are surfacing now in Calgary. Verbatim.
I am willing to bet the players threw the season to get rid of Sutter. I refuse to believe that team, the way itās built, canāt be serious contenders. They werenāt going to give sutter the credit for the season. New coach, new era and theyāll take off next season – you watch!
Love's going to be an NHL coach one day. Might as well make him coach on a team with guys he knows, and has success with. Going to be some ahl call ups on the for next season due to cap issues
I love that Darryl Sutter's 2-year extension with Calgary doesn't kick in until next season.
