  1. Geeez people.. Stop looking back at the Bruins winning 65 games.. The only record that matters in the first round was the previous record between Florida and Boston, which was tied 2-2.. The rest of the Bruins record is IRRELEVANT.. It doesn't matter how good the rest of their year was, if they played 50/50 with Florida. That 50/50 btw, was before Fla got Tkachuck. The Bruins never had more than a 50% chance of winning this series. This has been really bad coverage and analysis by most media outlets… They didn't "Collapse". They just lost, and it shouldn't be that much of a surprise.

  2. "We will systematically deconstruct, frustrate, embarrass and obliterate the Bruins one game at a time." – Paul Maurice
dude called his shot before the series and then his team goes out and executes

  3. Yes, they played poorly overly but reality they lost in game 7 by 1 goal in OT. And from when they were down 2-0 until the 19 minute mark of the third period they played really well and limited chances. One bad bounce in the last minute and that was it. Certainly, it was not the ending they wanted but they will be back.

  4. 1) playing Foligno, Forbert and Krejci to start to playoffs who never played for months and we’re obviously rusty and not right. – coaches fault.

    2) not replacing Uhlmark in game 5 who was clearly having problems. – Coaches fault.

    3) Bringing Bergy and Krejci back in game 4 when we were up 3 games to 1 and we never won a game after that – Coaches fault.

  5. Coulda, woulda, shoulda, it's the same old song and dance .regular season means nothing and playoffs are a whole different game. 🚬🚬🍻🍻🍻

  6. As a Pens-supporter It feels a bit empty. I was so invested in seeing you choke a bit later, but now I have only Rangers I want to crash and burn, so the series feels almost over after round 1 with teams I love to hate.

  7. I’m not sure if it’s wise to compare a hockey series loss to a disaster where 35 people were burnt alive. And no, nor is “but Jack Edwards said it” a good reasoning either.

  8. Ullmark lost his focus when he tried that Binnington posturing with Thachuk. He's a pretender. Trade him now while his stock is still somewhat high and get some draft capital back and shore up some money to sign Swayman. And no this isn't a knee jerk reaction. There is something about this guy that just doesn't sit right with me.
Btw- Jim Carey once won a Vezina.

  9. Hey guys all the way from liverpool England here love the Bruins,,, im speechless….stayed up last night to watch the game and wish i hadnt love the podcast btw everything i agree with monty needs alot to answer for.

  10. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh well there goes your record setting year!!! You came up small at the end!!! 2010 all over again

  11. Jim was definitely a problem. He was totally outcoached. He didn't adapt. He was talking the same BS again and again during press conferences, but it is not that important. He didn't adapt for real, he did not understand there is a real problem here. He didn't try to change the style and play more physical, he didn't control the tempo of the game. The team was crashed in game 6 after they took the lead (also in OT GM7) and he didn't even think to take a timeout, to calm down players in that critical moment. Nothing. He was playing same D pairs again and again till the very end. Why play Forbot&Clifton 7 minutes before the end when you have the lead if these guys got crashed again and again ? Shorten the bench, or at least break up the lines. Try to close out the game. He shuffled the lines for start of every game. Like even that game 7. Why to play Bertuzi with Marchand & Bergeron ? I mean – you can always have them here and there if there is a match up, but DeBrusk, Hall, Coyle were almost invisible during this game 7. He didn't responded to any in-game situations, any in-game micro-matches. He didn't adept his strategy between the games (throwing in Clifton just for the sake of doing something is not really a change). Jim was awful as a playoff, result-oriented coach… No show at all. I don't know if it is because he is still a rookie coach basically, specially when it comes to elite teams with Stanley Cup inspirations, or he is just a mid-tier coach as a hockey mind (even that he is a nice guy as it seems, and had a great regular season as a coach). Anyway, it is not just line shuffling… it is much-much more in a coach department… I don't know even where to start… Total no show… no response… no in-game adaptations, not between the game adaptations, no learning from the previous game mistakes…. a complete nothing…. Just doing the same thing all and all over again, seeing it doesn't work and continuing to do it the exact the same way with some strange hope it would work this time until they just hit the wall… Like, why didn't you at least try to take a timeout in OT Game 7 ? You didn't see it all falling apart ? Give away after give away, after give away… Like that goal was coming for 7 minutes already. If not for Swayman we were loosing on Tkachuk break away (can't even say it is a breakaway – he didn't break away of nobody, just a give away and complete break down of defense). I mean, if it was a single case – ok, you survive and continue to play, BUT it was a collapse and give aways all OT long (outside the 1st minute). It is OT in Game7, like dude, what are you waiting for ? Take a timeout, try to calm down your guys, remind of defensive structure you want to play with, remind of responsibilities, slow down the game… Jim was completely loose. Of course, it didn't help the team had a 50% show – but the other 50% is solely on this coach and mostly – in lack of game/series/matchups management,

  12. The Bruins didn't play like a record-setting team, and the Panthers didn't play like an 8th seeded team

  13. I'm si sick I didn't get to sleep until 8 am I even dreamed that after the over time goal in my dream I was like ok it's alright there's time it was actually a nightmare

  14. I'm so so sick the only other bigger upset was when 3 to 0 to Philly then lost the next 4…I'm just so sick to my stomach I really am ..what happened..worse of all is we lost a few great positions on draft picks..uggggggggg

  15. Bruins had 6 Canadian players on roster, Florida had 14. Defencemen are brutally soft, Clifton and Grezlyk are too small to defend in front of the net and whoever has been coaching defensive zone breakouts should be gone. failing to get puck out time after time, players trying cross ice defensive zone passes when there is room to skate puck out. Not that that is new this year, Bruins been playing that way for years.

  16. All of this happened because of the years of Bruin trolls chirping other teams. You all deserve the worst collapse in NHL history against a team with OVER 40 points less than you. Fans and JACK EDWARD are the reason for the sport gods getting retribution on your franchises.

  17. There should be a fire sale this offseason honestly. I thought before the season began that our cup window was closed, and in this moment I've never been more confident in that fact. Anyone not named McAvoy, Pastrnak, or Swayman should be fair game. Time for at least a re-tool.

  18. cause the panthers are a fake 8 seed. Any team that wins the president's cup last year adds a superstar like tkachuk, isn't an 8 seed. That's how ridiculous the regular season is…that is one of the best teams in hockey disguised as an 8 seed

  19. You nailed it with the Monty "Mr. Rogers". We called him Jolly Roger .. watching the team pinned in the d zone and players turning pucks over. ZERO accountability. He's goofing off and being everyone's buddy. Horrible optic

  20. The deeper Bruce goes, the greater the odds that Monty isn't behind the Bs bench next season. How long can the front office hide from their decisions? I think everybody in that lineup needs to be evaluated very carefully. That includes McAvoy unless he was hurt. He was invisible except when the Panthers hung him out to dry.

And Monty didn't adjust at all. He had no response; none. How can the players trust him next year?

  21. Maybe what we're seeing is the exposure of the actual 'talent' of some of our guys via Monty's coaching? Maybe they're not as good as we thought?

  22. Funny, but the guys that didn't like Bruce are the guys that didn't show up – if it was the vets.

  23. I wish they move out of the city. I am so tired of being disappointed by this organization. Even when the front office does everything right it still sucks in the end. Bring back GOON hockey. I just want body crunchers that I don't expected anything from.

  24. Monty should not be fired. They simply just didn't play the long season Bs game we knew. As far as Monty saying he didn't notice any issues with the Defense ??? That baffles me. The Defensive zone was the problem the whole series. This is what made the Bruins great all season. If the offense had a slow game, no problem. The Goaltending and D did the rest and they'd find away. In this series. Thr offense still wasn't Great, but they did find a way. Than when that sturdy Defense was required to do thier part, it was non-existent. I mean, how many times did Florida have zone time for nearly over a minute? Longer at some moments. Even when they didn't have a PP! Just nuts.

  25. The team will be fine. Here's my Pitch. Goalies are good. D still young enough. Do not sign Orlov, Hathaway, trade Carlo, Grizzy. Do whatever it takes to keep Bertuzzi. He was a spectacle. They'll have to move money out to get back. You hopefully can get Lysell in the lineup. Just maybe Beecher is good enough to play third or forth line. And perhaps this Mason Lorieri kid could surprise us and be ready. So they do have some options. I'm just trying to be positive. Bergy and Kretch should be done. They can't seen to stay healthy. It sucks but we don't want these guys to bottom out. They've been good for so long.

  26. Its not an unraveling its a colossal choke by the entire team! I am so sick of these meltdowns . I have no desire to watch this bullshit team next year!

  27. The bullshit soft goal Swayman gave up to Montour in the first period of game 7 told you the Bruins weren't going to win that game!

  28. Who’s the idiot that decides to play Ullmark in 6 straight games when everyone knew he had a significant injury? Swayman got screwed.

  29. Nobody will believe anything they do in the regular season . Will never invest that much time in emotion into this team again. All they do for decades is choke in big spots

  30. The panthers were Boston's perfect storm. I know it's cliche but that's why you play the games. I'm a panther fan. What I seen. Is the panthers outhustled you Outplayed you indefinitely outcoached you. You can say Boston gave it to us or we got lucky. All that does is make you feel better about your team. I hope toronto Gives us the series too l o l

  31. OMG the bill for this party was on the table, that being said with Pasta inked and the president's trophy banner to reflect upon the picks you spent on rentals are still only part of what your future consists of. The draft can still be a place where you further the long-term development of a great organization. I'll still check Cam Neely in at the door for going all in with a really tough division to get through, still do not forget to credit paul maurice and the game plan he executed. Be interested to see his approach to the Leafs and how it looks vs what he did well against your depth and consistency. Nice try Bruins the city of Champions can get over it. 🎄
