  1. I loved hockey from 92, till 2017, and haven't watched a game since. I guess I just lost total interest, I miss these days ALOT and my girlfriend loved the pens! She's married now fuck, but is that like a disease? why don't care about hockey anymore what's wrong with me…

  2. 8:30 the geno chant leading to that goal… damn, when was the last time our fanbase was that hyped? 16-17 wins were amazing, but 09 will always have the best fans. Maybe it's the igloo, maybe it's the fact that after nearly 10 years of no playoffs, only the real fans were left in the stands. Either way, I'll remember that year as the best Pens season of my life.

  3. Makes you appreciate how good these guys were. This 2009 team would pound the current Penguins. It's a different era for sure, but Sid and Geno right at the start of their primes, Gonchar, Guerin, Kunitz, Staal, the list goes on an on.

Sid and Malkin were key of course. Gonchar and Guerin you see in this video chipped in SO much, couldn't have won without them. The Staal/Cooke/Kennedy line had big moments. Talbot big moments. Letang a few big plays. Kunitz. But watching this back, I forgot how many unexpected huge plays Mark Eaton made. Most people who consider themselves big fans, barely even (or not at all) remember Eaton.

  4. Here from the YouTube algorithm. Almost shed a tear. This whole playoff run was magical and so special for so many reasons. Love these guys! Great upload

  5. Just here to say Max Talbot is forever a legend. Choked up watching this from all the memories and emotion.. what a scrappy team this was.

  6. I have two vivid memories from that run. Being in Joe Louis for Game 7 obviously is the end all be all. The whole crowd stood for the last 10-9 minutes of that game. And when Ericcson hit the post, that was the loudest ping I’ve ever heard. But there was a game in March against the Panthers I was at. Scoreless going to the 2nd, fluky goal by the Panthers takes the early lead. Before the announcer can finish, face off win back to the d man. Billy G 1 touch passes it to Crosby streaking in. Sucked the air right out of the building to tie the game. I looked at my buddy and told him right there. We are winning the Cup this year and a few months later it came true.

  7. Here after 16 years of making the playoffs! Thanks for the memories boys, and hopefully more! LGP🖤💛🥅🏒🐧🤟✌️
