NHL Game 1 Highlights | Panthers vs. Maple Leafs – May 2, 2023
Sam Bennett had a goal and an assist and Matthew Tkachuk added three helpers as the Florida Panthers stole home ice advantage in their second-round series defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 in Game 1.
William Nylander has to be the most infuriating player of all time. We all know his potential but he just stands around at times. If he moved his feet and utilized his strength and speed he does have more frequently, he could be up there amongst the top paid players in the league. Not blaming him for the loss but his lack of effort at times is maddening
I know it’s only Game 1 and the beginning to a long series, but genuinely believe the panthers are going to represent the East in the Cup Finals. They have all the makings of a champion team with a deep forward group, star power, a mix of stay at home defense and offensive minded dmen, and a hot goalie. Not to mention Paul Maurice who seems to be just the coaching presence these guys needed. They obviously have an abundance of confidence in themselves after what they did to the bruins, but I feel like they’ve been playing playoff hockey since early march

As a Flames fan, seing both our top draft picks leave/traded and playing in the 2nd round on the 2nd line hurts. Happy for them but disappointed at the Flames GM and management for letting this happen.

I stg, I didn't really understand why there was so much hate for the Leafs fanbase until I joined their post game breakdown after tonight and boy oh boy I know why now. Out here thinking they're gods now because they beat a worn down Lightning team. Now they're up against last year's President's Trophy winners who just took on and took down Boston and think the Cats are nothing. Hoping we take em down again on Saturday to walk back into Sunrise with a dominant series lead.
So proud of Chucky. You can tell torontos game plan was to keep hitting Chucky and push him down to get under his skin and draw penalties, but Chucky remained disciplined, assisted on 3 of the 4 goals and stayed out of the box. Smart player.

Well, so much for the theory that the Leafs would stop holding their sticks so tight after finally winning a playoff round since George Bush was president. Leafs nation got their feeding with the 1st round win, now it's back to same old for the Leafs. Let's be honest, they got lucky first round, and now it's back to reality. This team is simply not that good.
Pretty bad game for Toronto. Their passing and breakout is still terrible. Honestly they didnt deserve the last series even though it was nice to win but would be better to earn it. Reality is catching up with them this series and I wouldnt be surprised if they get swept. Our D is terrible. Scared to move the puck hesitation is killing them.
