Hextall and Sullivan are unwilling to change anything. We've had the same lines that aren't working. Carter is slow, McGinn isn't doing anything, Dumolin makes a lot of mistakes, and injuries plague the team. Not to mention our cap situation keeps up stuck. There's guys in wbs who could probably help, but even if Hextall wanted to, he couldn't bring them up. Nylander, Ty Smith, and probably others. This team is stuck until next season.
Too much cap on aging players. Pens took the path of "continuing the same", but the two worse executives in the NHL….Burke and Hextall still think it's 2010.
I think we are going through a cycle of seeing the greats beginning the fade out of their careers. Ovechkin, Crosby, Kane.

It’s time for the new super stars of the NHL east to emerge. I’m sick of Pens and Washington and I’m ready for the young talents of Sabres and Red Wings to maybe break through into the playoffs if not this year then the next.
It's that time of year good play off teams take off. Edmonton used to do it every year. Late Jan through Feb, Grant Fuhr used to let in 4-6 goals per game and the Oilers would drop to 3rd in the Smythe.
I'd say they traded away their top players, but that's the Blues
The pens are just a bunch of washed up veterans that can't keep up with the young talent most teams are utilizing.
Hextall is not a great GM. Bobby Clarke is still angry with him for not listening to him about drafting Cale Makar. Instead, Hextall drafted Nolan Patrick enough said.
Age is catching up with core players. 82 game reg. season + post season can't go on forever. Love the RED WINGS!
They are trying to move the team. Hextall could not beat the Pens on the ice so he is taking them down from the inside this is terrible new owners want to move them!!!!

I stopped watching them when they went woke with the rest of the league. I’m still glad I drove 12 hours to be at the cup parade in 2009
They are done heckstall helped accelerate that process. Imagine they keep McCann and Tanev instead of choosing to keep Carter then adding McGinn. I would blame this all on Heckstall. Sullivans scheme needs speed and right now they can’t get out of their own way. Dumos washed Carter is washed Kap never had it to begin with Hes fast but shit I’d take Carl Hagelin over him all day. We’ll maybe a couple years ago lok
Ovi vs. Crosby is the old rivalry. Pitt and Washington management aged for the last 5 years. Their superstars are still good, but the depth guys that were supporting actors from cup days are no longer keeping up.

A lot of payroll tied up in aging players. It was clear during last years playoffs that they needed some help during the off season. They had a chance to eliminate some overhead…and then didn't do it. Yes, the "core 3" are doing well, but if 1 wasn't resigned how many quality bottom 6 or picks could they have acquired with it. Oilers are in a similar situation.
The Penguin’s have been great for like 15 years, they have one bad season and the fans lose there dang mind! I hate legacy teams! It’s one of the reasons I think basketball ball is so stupid!
lmfao “ARE GETTING EMBARRASSED”. they’ve had the longest playoff streak in the history of the league and have five cups. looks like they’re a pretty good team to me. some idiots don’t understand that it’s natural for teams to go through seasons where they don’t succeed.
Trade Crosby to Washington
The D is soft as hell. You almost never see them play the body instead of the puck for some reason. Not only that, there are too many guys trying to be Kris Letang. Kris Letang doesn’t even look like himself this season. The back end needs to step up and start crushing guys or they’re gonna keep getting out-finessed and that’s not how you should be playing fundamentally sound defense. Defense wins championships fellas.
If they make the playoffs(still a chance) they will lose in the first round and probably be swept. They just don't have the depth needed to make a run.
Yarri not jarry, its saying JALepeno. if your gunna report and run a tender through the dirt atleast say his name right. He's a solid tender and that position often comes with being the scape goat for blaming losses. have you ever played a shift? it's a fast pace game and d men and forwards need to support their tender not just blame it on them when it goes south

Pens fan, this season is a wash. The roster is too bad to fix before the trade deadline. Need to clean house and rebuild the bottom 6 and few defensemen in the offseason. Hextall, Sullivan, and Todd need to go. Sullivan is a Penguins legend but it’s time. He refuses to change his speed system with an old slow team and expects it to work. His situational player deployment is horrible. The Edmonton game really showed just how poor the team and Sullivan’s system is with this group. He refuses to give young guys a chance, I know our pool is virtually empty but it doesn’t make sense trotting out the same exact lineup every game and expecting that they’ll “play the right way” that’s his only explanation. But also Hextall has gotten together one of the worst Pens teams of the Crosby era. This is show like you said, the core three are doing great, they’ve got no help outside of Jake, Rikard, Rust, and Zucker. They’ve had an abysmal power play for years now, you can’t win a round with no power play. Yet coaching plays the same exact special teams expecting different outcomes. The team is lost and management and unfortunately coaching needs to change as well

This isn't going to age well….6 points out of 3rd in metro just 4 games after this video……top wild at worst. This team has always dipped in the regular season. This one was a little later than normal but people want to jump all over this like it's something. Jarry back in and others and they are real good again. 18 7 and 5 with jarry in net. Tied for first before he was injured then slumped with him out.

Holding onto Malkin and Letang was a terrible idea. I said that at the beginning of the season and people gave me shit for it 🙄 We should have traded them for the best options after we won our second cup of the back-to-back. THAT and we need a stable, reliable goaltender.
