Its simple boys, it's all about comparison and momentum as confidence is nothing more than that. Panthers beat the Bruins who are better than the leafs compared to the Leafs beating TB. You can't compare the confidence of overcoming a 1st round jinx (relief), that pressure was on the front office significantly more than the team/players, to beating the best team in regular season history. Mind over skill in the playoffs, when the mind set changes from "we should beat these guys" to "we are going to have to beat these guys"
Sammy seems just happy the Buds are in the second round. Gotta disagree with him about Samsonov's play. Can't blame Samsonov on any goals except maybe the Verhaughe goal.

My concern before last nights game was that Bos may have been a better match up against the leafs bc they know the Bruins very well…they don't know the Panthers. Nobody in the league pays attention to the Cats. 2. If Playoff Bob gets in his zone. Unstoppable! I've watched him in all his playoffs in years past. Sat behind him once and saw him play. This guy was freakish in the playoffs before. That said I still think Leafs will take the series but there going to have to come up with a different plan I think.
The best part of making these mistakes is now having the ability to learn from them. Its still a young team all in their first time getting through to round 2. They'll go over some tapes make necessary adjustments and come out flying in game 2. Let's go leafs!!!
Tampa played with more structure but I honestly think Florida is a better team and a worse matchup goalies aside. Florida has grit in the top 6 that Tampa didn’t have and they also have skill and speed in the bottom 6 that Tampa didn’t have. Florida also has D who are a threat from the point. Hedman could have been that guy for Tampa but he was hurt.
Do the Panthers get lucky…absolutely….every rebound and loose puck lands on their sticks. That being said…you have to be good to be lucky. The Panthers create their luck by bumping and grinding. They are built for the playoffs, have great chemistry, and strong play in all phases of the game. As a Boston fan, I sounded exactly like you…FLA is so lucky…the luck will end…guess what…it won’t end because they are good and work hard. The Leafs have the talent and skill to win…do they have the heart? We shall see. But don’t rely on their luck to dissolve. Need to break their Will first and I don’t see that happening.

Florida fan. I find it absolutely hilarious. That Florida has won 5 games in the playoffs. So far. And yet. We haven't beat 1 team yet. It's all because the other team makes all the mistakes. Florida don't beat them they give. Florida the game. Well please Toronto give us another game. L o l
This simple. If Leafs cant contain the Bennett Tkachuk Cousins line they willl lose the series. That line is a battering ram that scores and Tkachuk was noticable everytime he touched the ice. Unlike 16, 88, 91. Sammy was only reason leafs werent behind more than 1-0 at end of 1st.

Florida didn’t ”get hot at the right time” though. First half it took them time to figure out personnel changes and second half they played playoff hockey. This is a team that won the president’s throphy last season.
