Exciting development. This dude looked like a more-than-likely bust for a few years (not surprising from a 5th round pick) but really turned it on this year. Glad to see his success is paying off (literally)!
Also, yes, he’s the brother of the dude the Islanders traded to Vancouver for Bo Horvat (Aatu Raty). When we picked Aku in 2019, it was still a pretty popular thought that Aatu would be a top 5 pick, but he fell to the Isles in the 2nd round and has shown flashes of brilliance interspersed with “meh”.
