Losing 4 out 5, 3 of which were at home, is clown shoes.

  2. MiddleBodyInjury

To be fair they had a lot of bad weeks

  3. DannysFavorite945

The only week more important that the “one bad week” is the following week. It’s the fucking playoffs you clown.

Saw this interview. He’s trying to save his ass. GG is gone (hopefully)

This quote more than anything shows why he needs to go. These issues were apparent all year and he’s either unable to recognize them or unwilling to fix them. Also one week is a lifetime in the playoffs, you can’t afford to play bad for an entire week and expect to survive.

Not a GG lover or hater. You can tell he’s frustrated because his record is pretty good all things considered. Lots of teams would be happy with 100+ and making the playoffs. The goal is to win the SC tho. If you can’t make the proper adjustments to win a series or have your players motivated, then it might be time to go regardless of how many times we crack 100+ regular season points.

I really thought after last year this team had the heart to go all the way, but clearly last years mindset was lost somewhere along the way. This wasn’t a matter of having a bad week, it was a matter of not showing up and not giving effort. It’s a matter of not making adjustments when clearly there were issues. We saw through the series GG simply chalked up losses to “bad luck” and that the team “played well” and that’s what ended up killing us in the end. It’s on the players for not showing up too, but Gallant has to take some of the blame for not putting the players in the best position to succeed and not being able to get his group going.

They had one bad week several times this season lol

  9. BurrShotLast

Dude made absolutely zero adjustments and had no idea what to do with the level of talent on this team.

You guys are acting like we had a historic season with wins and won the president’s trophy. Only to lose to a team that barely made it to the playoffs in the first round. That wasn’t us. We lost to a team that was better than us. Not only in the standings but had our number all season long. This wasn’t the team to bring the cup home. We all had our doubts going into the playoffs. You know this to be true. It sucks and I get that but let’s start coping with this reality and hope we can pick up players that fill in the obvious holes that we have on our team.

I get that from inside the locker room they probably feel like they did all they could and just had some bad luck or off nights, but when you get bounced like this you have to have some humility and capacity for self-criticism, and I really haven’t seen that from anyone other than Kreider. If Gallant wants to keep this job he has to be able to be brutally honest with himself about what went wrong and what he could do better and I’m not seeing any interest from him in doing that.

The lack of accountability is disturbing.

That “one bad week” was a major blown opportunity. The race for the Cup will never be this open again — with the defending champs, arguably the greatest playoff team of the last five years, and HISTORICALLY successful Bruins, all out in the first round. Not to mention potentially wasting Tarasenko and Kane’s tenures here if they aren’t re-signed.

Gallant should have been launched into space noon yesterday, at the latest

I’m not defending GG but, y’all saw how the players just didn’t show up. They didn’t play with any urgency. These are professional men and it shouldn’t matter what system is being played, who their coach is or what adjustments weren’t made. These players all played like they wanted the other guy to do it for them.
    Disgraceful

I hear ya man. I for one have never had a bad week in my life and I wouldn’t associate with anyone who has.

  15. iwasnotplanningthis

“We make adjustments, like everybody does – even though some people say I don’t adjust things. But we do. Trust me. Sometimes adjustments don’t work.”

    this here is loser talk.

  16. SwagOD_FPS

Kreider didn’t show up game 7. -4 with a bunch of failed clearing attempts and absolutely glided around out there.

  17. BaltSkigginsThe3rd

So VGK are my main team with y’all being a very close second and let me tell you that this is the exact kind of thing we saw in Vegas with him. He’s not really great at holding players accountable at all and it gets really aggravating as a fan. When we first got rid of him I was honestly pretty confused but then seeing the same things happen in NY that happened to us I fully understand why it happened the way it did.

He’s a good coach but I don’t think he will ever be a cup winning coach due to his lack of accountability and his lack of being able to adjust when needed most.

  18. Not many guys from the front office on down don’t deserve at least partial blame. Drury maybe acquired the best available players before the trade deadline but not necessarily the right players in terms of speed, heaviness etc and the need to balance out the team. Gallant and the coaching seemed to have a tough time making adjustments or made them too late. And pretty much every player had bad games or games where they were invisible or made mistakes at critical times.

  19. cloudmironice

Gallant is trying to spin zone his way into keeping his job

  20. Sjdillon10

David Quinn was so bad that gallant looked like a great coach. Any mid tier coach could’ve gotten this stacked roster far.

  21. THE_Goochalini

To think kreider showed up is laughable. Just because he had 5 goals doesn’t mean he was out there working his ass off. Quite the opposite.all 5 were tip ins atleast 2 of which hit his body never touching his stick. Outside of those 5 instances he provided absolutely nothing

  22. labinnac_esproc_02

The only positive thing from this is that NYR shut the bed soooo bad and it’s basically known league wide how fucking terrible this was .. maybe it forces the organization to look within and make real serious moves and changes.

  23. ElwoodJD

Boston had one bad week. I dunno that’s comparable to here.

  24. Humble-Koala-5853

The fact that he was allowed to talk to the press means he’s likely staying. His press conference have mostly been BS from the start. He doesn’t give much, he doesn’t say much. He rarely throws guys under the busor singles them out. That’s why players like him. That’s why players were dumbfounded when he was fired in Vegas and Florida. He makes their lives easy and protects them.

Truthfully we have no idea what he’s saying to the room or to management. If he doesn’t get fired, it must be something pretty good.
