TJ Finley is gone, Auburn football adds Jalen McLeod | Auburn Tigers Podcast

The TJ Finley era of Auburn football ended Tuesday after the quarterback announced that he will be leaving the Auburn Tigers as a transfer. He leaves Robby Ashford and Holden Geriner behind while talk heats up that Hugh Freeze is pursuing Payton Thorne and Casey Thompson.

Auburn added JACK linebacker Jalen McLeod via the portal Tuesday. Jalen McLeod, formerly of Appalachian State, has decided to join Hugh Freeze and transfer to the Auburn Tigers. Mcleod will have at least one year of eligibility and has the option of using his extra year of eligibility thanks to the Covid year that is applied to all student-athletes.

On today’s Locked On Auburn, Zac Blackerby is joined by Mike G of the War Rapport. They discuss the latest Auburn football news, drama, transfer portal rumblings, and more.

  1. Wish T J all the best hope he goes to a school that knows how to coach him and he does great thing's WAR EAGLE

  2. You heard it here first. Since we are hell bent on signing a qb watch Robby transfer then we are down to two qbs. Then we are screwed

  3. I really hope we don't get the Michigan state guy. his receivers left because the qb dropped his stock.

  4. Mcleod's strip play against A&M was amazing! He threw the tackle down like he was a pillow.

  5. I like RA and will support whoever is going to be starter, but until I see him have decent touch and make the wide open, 10 yard gimme play, without burning it in there at an uncatchable speed, I’m going to be skeptical. I don’t know if touch is coachable, but I sure hope it is. Even if we bring in Casey, there’s a string possibly RA digs in and still wins the position in the fall. Either way, bringing in someone to push the competition is a good thing.

  6. NOBODY in AUBURN will shed tears over Finley leaving the program. For the most part, AUBURN fans say he left during the season last year!

  7. Robby. Robby. Robby.

If most of the fan base had their way a few months back, we’d be calling Kiffin coach. So, I truly believe in Robby

  8. I’m over it but just a bit of speculation….imagine Hugh with his hands on Bo Nix with an improved line. I promise I’m beyond Nix I’m just saying, that would be his best season to date

  9. Casey Thompson would be a solid QB1 and Robby on deck as QB2… The SEC is a physical league, you gotta have two guys that are ready to go that can pull out a win. WDE!

  10. McCloud reminds me of my old college teammate Robert Mathis 6'1 230 & strong as a ox 🐂 with a quick get off and good hands 🙌

  11. Payton Thorne fan here. Casey is not reliable enough. I see a guy who loses you a few games making mistakes

  12. Can someone drop a highlight tape of McCleod? All I saw was the tape against A&M. I couldn't find any good highlights reels. Maybe what you guys have acquired of locked on Auburn.

  13. MikeG: "while he was here he carried himself, you know, fairly well". Until he quit the team, until he trashed-talked the OL, until he jumped on that moped… GOOD RIDDANCE. WDE!

  14. Give Ashford a chance, he'll have a better team around him, he's more talented than Thompson , one thing for sure is Freeze is gonna go with whoever is the most consistent and he'll pull a QB in a heartbeat if it's not happening

  15. Has Mike G been sleeping under a rock TJ did nothing but caused problems and more than pathetic on the field. Lower level and get stats for the NFL lmao

  16. Robby Ashford should use this season to focus on getting his shoulder fixed. The clock is ticking to prepare for the 2025 NFL draft. Whoever the starting quarterback will be in the 2023 season will probably be the starting quarterback in season 2024 as well.
