    Honestly, as a black person who’s played hockey a long time. It’s not as accessible as it seems. I’d say it’s the most expensive sport to play. Luckily I came from a family able to provide me the opportunity to play. Not many people in the black community can say the same unfortunately. Wish it weren’t that way but most kids who even want to play no matter their skin colour often have to beat the money barrier

    A hockey topic? My hockey loving heart never thought I'd see the day. Much love to Snoop. Snoop and Charles Barkley have been great for hockey. The biggest hurdle for minority representation is obviously cost. Basketball and soccer are immensely popular worldwide because they are easily accessible. All you need is a ball and a basketball for basketball or a ball and whatever two items you need to simulate goal posts for soccer. Hockey is a little more difficult, moreso when you are talking ice hockey. We need to get more equipment to more minority players. Closest I ever got growing up to playing hockey was street hockey with some friends. And even then sticks can be expensive. I agree, we need more representation in hockey. It's a country club for white folks.

    I am pretty sure Ryan Reynolds is in on this as well. Given he is Canadian and has a Canadian group I do wonder how much of a chance Snoop's team has. He also has the advantage of being white. I want to see Snoop's team win this so bad. I am not black. But I can see how much power this can have. NHL's only path to growth is having more representation outside of white folks. Minority representation is the step, as well as more accessible equipment. Hockey is my fav sport, by far. Canadian here supporting Snoop's vision. If he's legit about it like he sounds, the league would heavily benefit having his group win this bid. As long as the Sens stay in Ottawa.

    I love how we have to celebrate accomplishments of black athletes by tearing the white ones down why is it still white vs black why can’t we just see ppl instead of seeing skin color all skip does is celebrate the demise of white athlete over here talking about Will Levis slipping out of the 1st round every single chance he gets there is no doubt in my mind the qbs taken ahead of him will be better but why do we have to use words like black qb and white qb why can’t they just be a qb or a person. When is the agenda satisfied when there are no more white athletes period how come we don’t talk about racail equity in the nba I don’t see ppl standing up and protesting a white player isn’t taken round 1 in the nba. Black athletes are just as good if not better than white athletes but why do we celebrate the way we would do. Why can’t we have conversations like ppl one thing I love about this show is it isn’t a white vs black guy it’s just 2 friends talking about sports I understand these conversations are necessary to have sometimes why does it have to be all the time why bring up something so negative for no reason or instead of celebrating that things have changed instead it comes off as yeah f**k u white guy u raciest piece of s***. Like I understand I’m about to get called alot of things for posting this but I can’t help it I’m sick and tired of being put because I exist.

    I like the idea of the youth hockey league but growing up in Canada most kids wanted to play hockey but with equipment and league fees it would cost alot more money than any other sport. Thats why most of us ended up playing soccer amd basketball; because it was cheap.

    I love Snoop, but I would be highly surprised if NHL Owners let these POC in their club. Remember The NFL and NBA has shun away POC in ownership. I hope Snoop succeed in his quest of ownership. Maybe good for Hockey.

    The only thing is that it’s only about lifting black peoples up. I mean if trump said ima try and increase the amount of white people in the nfl it’s rascist. Idk man this just mad weird that people super are by race. I think if snoop and them mad an effort to diversify the sports would be better. I mean what sports do white peoples dominate cuz if blacks are a minority then there should be just as talented people from other races. I think is limp to prioritize based on race and not actions. Everyone in poverty is suffering the same
