It’s weird that Bednar said he was gone for personal reasons and not team discipline.
Everything that has come out sure sounds like a discipline issue but we really don’t have much to go on.
Seems odd the team hasn’t come out and said this is what we know, this is what we are investigating, this is what we are doing to help/work with Nichuskin.

At this point I’m pretty comfortable in saying Nuke has a drug problem, which is why it was not “an injury issue” or technically a “legal one.” The team discovered the scene after he missed practice from boozing and drugs, sent him off to get help and got the girl picked up by the ambulance.
There will be a big push in the coming days to say the Avs organization are terrible people, but this is how the situation would be handled on 31 other teams too.
I hope all parties get the help they need. I can’t help but be disappointed in Nuke, but I’ve known to many addicts to hold it purely against him given his unique situation (rich, young, Russian, cup win, in a ton of pain after disappointing season,etc).
