Vancouver #Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has acquired forward Jason Dickinson from the Dallas Stars in exchange for a third-round draft pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

Not familiar enough with Dickinson's play to say whether he'd be a good fit for Vancouver, but I like his size, age, and coming off a $1.5million contract. Potentially a really good move for the Canucks. Thanks CLay and Jake….Buy Jake McD's or an ice cream for being such a trooper, Clay!

Think it addresses a need for sure. Sort of disappointed that we don’t try to have a third line that can contribute offensively so can roll three lines with some offence threat, and let the 4th line be the checking line. But, given where the Nucks are now, it’s an improvement. But if the Nucks want to be an elite team, I think need more than just 2 scoring lines with two lines that you just hope don’t hurt you.
A seemingly responsible move by Jimbo here…I like the price point – this was a good managerial move.

It's a great trade for the Canucks. He's that elusive, cheap 3rd line anchor we've needed. As long as they don't lose Gadjovich in the expansion draft, I'll be happy. Huge upgrade.

I like this move and I think its pretty safe to say Sutter is not coming back now. Dickinson provides the grit the canucks need for the 3rd line and has still youth too

AMA. Last year Jim got Schmidt for a 3rd round pick. This year, it was Dickinson for a 3rd. It seems to me Schmidt is a MUCH better value than Dickinson for a 3rd. I continue to believe Jim has not improved this team. They are not making the playoffs. Has Jim really been AGGRESSIVE.

3rd rounder seems steep for this player, this is coming from someone who hasn’t seen him play much . I feel like players of this caliber can be signed as ufa’s am I wrong ? Hopefully Canucks pro scouts have done there homework .
I'm very happy with this trade .. a 3rd rounder (2021 draft) going the other way for an underrated 3rd liner.
He'll be a solid addition for the PK and will be able to take more of the defensive zone faceoffs, which will be a weight lifted from Bo Horvat.
Jimbo was actually solid on this trade.

Was talking to one of my friends last night who’s a stars/wild fan. He was claiming Dickinson is a big body and hits. I hadn’t seen a lot of his play but knew the name, happy to hear we have a tough guy coming in though. Also my friend was speaking highly of the Canucks and their young players. Most of the time my friends and I just get into friendly banter about our teams but it was nice hearing the positive comments from a fan of another team lol
