Jim Montgomery LOVED Brad Marchand Sticking up for Patrice Bergeron | Bruins Postgame

BOSTON, MA — Jim Montgomery gushed over Brad Marchand coming to the defense of teammate and Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron after he was hit late by the Canadiens Rem Pitlick.

“You don’t hit our captain late,” Montgomery said. “That was a three-second late hit. I love that Marchand did that.”

  1. Nice job with the audio, Maybe you should show the reporters I can read their lips as I listen to Montgomery

  2. U hit the captain late and the line to answer the hit starts with Marchy and ends with the last Bruin on the ice

  3. Marchand Protects Bergeron, Bergeron protects Marchand. They’re like brothers.

Edit: You all need to chill in the reply’s

  4. If teams think hitting 37 will also get 63 off the ice for 2-5 minutes, they’ll do it more, not less. IMO, 63 is too valuable to be playing the “enforcer” role.

  5. Oh pls stop overblowing the Rat… he’s not the first and won’t be the last to defend a late hit and/or Captain of a team. One thing I know for sure, If the B’s don’t win cup this season (with all the records being set) would be a total failure… oh the pressure 🫢.

  6. Translation:
Although my team sucked tonight, I'm going to be respectful of the Candiens' history and not point out that the Habs play like it's a throwaway game up in Rochester, every night.

  7. Well said. Words don't win games though. Good thing is that 'Gomery wanted to be sure that he not only "liked" what Marchand did, but he "loved" the accountability. Brad will not win most fights going toe-to-toe, but he will do it if it means Team First. (I certainly do not want to get on Bradway's bad side!!).

  8. I like the, I love the fact that Marchand made him pay a price for doing it. I just fell in love with Monty! I always got the impression that Cassidy discouraged the physical game as he constantly sat Clifton and Frederic.

  9. 3 second late hit? What click was he watching. He played the puck and over skated and kept looking over his right shoulder while turning left and it took 1.5 sec till he ran into Pitlik who was following thru. Video doesn’t lie.
