  1. Devils should trade for Caufield and reunite the duo. Is Cole a sure thing? No but I think he will still end up being at least a consistent 30 plus scorer when he enters his prime

  2. It's a rebuild. Habs can afford to be patient. I hope the new regime develops talent better than previous ones.

  3. Caufield is a class player, there's just no debate there. The whole organisation is going through huge change at the moment, and the identity of this team is lost in the ether, and without an identity/structure you'll never see the best version of any player (not named McDavid). He's a piece the Canadiens are lucky to have to build around, and I look forward to seeing how this teams transforms over the next two/three years

  4. I hope Hughes can help Caufield mentally. Jack is having a similar career as Cole. Hughes was horrible in his first season and now he’s great while Caufield was great in his first season and now he’s not that good. Hughes could tell Caufield what he did while he was struggling and maybe Caufield will listen to him. That could really revive Caufield’s career.

  5. it is being reported in chicago that the hawks will call up reichel, and that he will make his nhl debut this thursday.

  6. Its ok CC will be just fine, us Habs fans are just glad there is a real tank and complete reset going on, new management will/should mean better things for the younger players, MB was just brutal for young players and had far too much loyalty to vets

  7. Caufield is just too small. He's listed as 5' 7"…which means he's actually 5' 6". Sorry to say this but, size does matter in today's NHL. Truth hurts sometimes. He caught lightning in a bottle during the Habs' playoff run. He deserves credit for that. However, he's now being exposed as the player that any thoughtful Wisconsin Badger & Team USA fan already knew he was. Caufield is a one-dimensional powerplay specialist that's exceptionally good at one thing…floating down to the left faceoff circle and waiting for one-timers. That's his thing. Other than that, he contributes little else. He doesn't back check. He doesn't forecheck. He doesn't play in all three zones. He was a floater for the US NTDP. He was a floater for the Wisconsin Badgers. He's a floater for the Habs, too.

  8. He's with the Habs. They will obviously develop him the wrong way and turn him into a bust. What do you think? Since the 2008 draft(14 years ago. 14.), the Habs have seen 4 of their prospects develop into NHL players. Yes, 4. F.O.U.R. I am not joking. Gallagher, Lekhonen, Galchenyuk and Kotkaniemi. Two of them have been drafted 3rd overall, have turned into busts and are no longer with the team and one is a marginal player. I don't take players drafted since 2019 because it is too soon imo. As sad as it is to say, they finally reached the bottom of the league, where they belong. They are a prime example of terrible management. The worst is that MB was very good at making trades. If only he had fired Timmins early and surrounded himself with quality people.
