The only positive is that they didn’t lose both of these games at home.

  2. NNDDevil99

This feels different. Against the rangers they scored their goals on PPs and we still looked like the better team for some stretches of the game. Here… we’re getting completely housed 5-on-5

  3. YrAssIsAParachute

I can fix it. Next game let’s spend 6-8 seconds of each rush dicking around with little failed drop passes, and then IF it doesn’t get flipped for an odd man rush the other way, let’s just get outworked off the puck a few feet inside the zone, get knocked on our asses, make begging puppy eyes at the ref, hoping for a call, and then limp off for a line change. It’ll be great!

  4. KnightsOfBrohan

Nice response there. Didn’t know it was possible after the last series to lose the first two games worse than 10-2 combined but they outdid themselves!!

  5. MountainBean3479

That promo for oilers series was fun at least.

  6. Radjage

I’m sad it wasnt 1-5 instead. That said…shoulda pulled goalie at the powerplay and luke better play next game,

  7. Spoonbread

Alright its time for the classic big brain time. Lindy will swap starting goalies, bench Bahl for Smith, and bench Mercer for Boqvist. They’ll end up winning 2-1 with none of those 3 changes having a huge impact.

  8. FormerCollegeDJ

Having attended the game, you know a game is bad when a team that only has one of the smallest fanbases in pro sports wants to talk trash to you after the game.

  9. GoodbyeIPv4

We didn’t get shutout, check. Let’s have some pride and not get swept but again, we’re playing with house money. These are extremely valuable teaching points for half of the team considering their age and lack of meaningful hockey game experience.

  10. Jballzs13

We have like 5 30 goal scorers, 3 of them have 0 goals, or an empty netter. Shit cray

  11. Skooter_McGaven

This isn’t the same series. Can’t treat it as such. This isn’t a team that has some slow vets that can’t play D being bailed out by their other worldly goalie. This is not a “been here before,” the Canes are a wildly different animal. It’s going to take something major adjustments to turn this around.

  12. sanbaba

We’re young and this run is for learning. I’m not sure we want a less than 100% Timo Meier out there right now. But whatever, this is all bonus time and I’m not going to hold it againsnt the staff or the team that they’re not yet in their final form.

  13. Louxneauwytz

Jesper Bratt’s gonna have to learn chinese if he keeps this up

  14. trumpygotadumpy

I don’t even know what to say, we were completely outclassed on every aspect except goaltending.

Turnover after turnover, shitty outlet pass after shitty outlet pass, Jack trying to carry the whole play on his back and generating the most C+ scoring chance possible, poor defensive coverage after poor defensive coverage, top 6 is completely invisible, and complete dominance by the Canes on every single particular aspect of hockey.

Despicable performance and probably hurt myself watching all 60 minutes. See you all Sunday.

  15. d00md0ge

They are either going to put up a good effort AS A TEAM or they are going to keep getting absolutely crushed as individuals.

Tomorrow on to Sesame Place where the only thing to get pissed off about is PA drivers.

I’ll see you guys on Sunday at the Rock. Need a media blackout – I am pissed off at these boys.

  16. MountainBean3479

Hank has some very good analysis

  17. TheNightRain68

Yeah I’m very glad I didn’t see this game. From what I hear our only goal was miles wood. I know a lot of people are content with just beating the rags here, but frankly this is embarrassing. If we’re gonna lose games, at least make it close instead of these 4-5 goal blowouts.

On to game 3, but my confidence is low yet again.

  18. cant win 4-2 if you dont gave up 2

jokes aside, the team needs to wake up, show some passion. if they are going to turn this series around like they did with the rags, they need to play even better than they did last round, because the canes are are very good team compared to the rags, and i dont want to be that guy, but i doubt they will shit the bed like they did last season.

  19. iamtheprodigy

We played a lot better than the score would indicate tonight. Still not good enough to win, but it should have been a lot closer. If we can make a few adjustments, get a quality start from one of the tenders, and keep up the positives, we can win game 3 and then, who knows what happens? Trust in Jack Adams finalist Lindy Ruff.

  20. dishler712

We just got absolutely dominated in all areas of the ice for two straight games. I don’t know what else to say.

  21. Wholley_Moley

Our bottom six need to start taking runs on their top six. We’re so soft, this is embarrassing.

  22. teenagediplomat

Timo is an absolute joke. 8 games, 0 points with top-6 minutes. Even Lazar has out scored him

  23. hobbygod

-150 odds blackwood starts next game /s

Hopefully the boys figure it out. Doesn’t seem to be a skill issue, just looks like they’re getting outworked in every way

  24. mikefred2014

We should try everything including putting Luke in. At this point we’re getting bounced as it stands. Might as well get the young guns some more playoff experience and try to shake up something. Anything at this point seems like a better option.

  25. TheHuss115

Need Luke in on Sunday and would it hurt the top guns to fucking score, it’s getting absurd at this point. Carolina has been relatively a shit team on the road under Brindamour in the playoffs recently.

  26. Batfleck666

Hypothetical, if these teams had swapped coaches….do the Devils get blown out in these 2 games?

  27. Gally341

I know the writer’s guild is on strike, but this is just really lazy by the NHL.

  28. kingartyc

So next game Luke Hughes hat trick incoming…

  29. this team is horrendous to watch. if you’re going to lose can you at least score some goals. jesus christ bratt, meier, hischier are just getting cardio in out there. fucking DO SOMETHING

  30. I wonder if the team has just hit a wall. A lot of young guys on the team who have never played this much in a season, combined with the fact that they just had an exhausting, 7-game series with a big rival, combined with the lack of rest days so far and moving forward. I’m not trying to excuse the poor play, just trying to find an explanation for it.

It doesn’t help that the Canes are also just really good. They’re stronger and more cohesive than us. I would’ve thought speed would be an advantage for us, but we just look listless. I’m sure part of that is how solid they are, and part of it is how off we look.

I don’t know. It’s all very frustrating. When all is said and done, this will unquestionably be a hugely positive season for the team and for fans. But sitting through these games is agonizing. Would love it if we could just show some life before it’s over.

  31. Skooter_McGaven

You can shit on me all you want but I can’t stand the house money and glad to be here takes. We all thought the team was climbing after getting shit on by the Lightning and look what happened. This is one of the best teams in the NHL looking down right dreadful against a team that had a single point more over 82 games, against a team missing three big players. This team has some juggernauts that have Homer’ed into the bushes on the national stage.

  32. friedrichs2

At least this time it feels familiar…short turn around but both the staff and players need to look to adjust in some way. Another pivotal game 3, LGD
